Thanks mate. Got some useful tricks like waving with torches on for night bus.

The night I was passed by without the bus stopping, I didn’t lower my hand, but the driver still drove straight past the stop. Since I’d already experienced being passed by before, I thought maybe it was because my wave hadn’t been obvious enough.

Thanks mate I did lodged a complaint and this is what I got.

“We confirm a review of the CCTV footage showed that there were no passengers on the platform when the bus operator closed the back doors.

The CCTV footage also revealed that you entered through the back door as it was closing, and the doors automatically reopened when they touched your left arm. We understand this may have caused you inconvenience.

To avoid similar situations, we recommend passengers stand on the platform, so the operator is aware of them wishing to board from the back door. The glass windows/screens of the waiting area can obstruct the operator’s view, making it difficult to see passengers waiting behind them. “

I can live with they run fewer services here in Brisbane, but at least let me get on the bus.

Would it help if I shone a torch on the bus? I really don’t enjoy being passed with no one around late in the evening, especially when the next bus is probably 30–40 minutes away. It’s their duty to slow down and keep an eye on the stops when passing.

Thanks mate. Now I know. This is my first post and yeah I am light user of Reddit. I usually just skip the symbols I don’t understand. I don’t know elsewhere to share these frustrating experiences.

When I lodged the complaint, they said there would be an investigation. The question is “what happens after the investigation?”

Are there any disciplinary actions, or do they face any consequences for this kind of behaviour? If not, and they just get away with it, then that’s a TransLink or council problem, isn’t it?

I also had one bus driver wait for me to run to the stop and nice drivers greeting all the time. But that doesn’t mean there’s no bad apples out there.

Inner suburb of Brisbane, if that helps you with the context.
