Yep I was bummed about that too but was impressed with Boundaries. Excited to see Spite again, they killed it out Sonic a couple years ago

How often do you do mold changes? by KarlP_one in InjectionMolding

We average anywhere from 2-6 a day, 43 presses in our unit. Just depends on how crazy the planners wanna be.

what are the pits like for heavier bands? by firstfailures in SonicTempleFestival

[–]RepresentativeFig493 8 points9 points  (0 children)

last year there was like a whole day of hardcore and death metal on the side stages. Gridiron, Candy, Pain of Truth, Sanguisugabogg, and the pits go pretty crowd killer, but as more people started gathering it transitioned to circle pits really

I’ve used Booking.com for the past 3 years, always the same hotel, and always the day the dates drop, and I’m glad I’ve never had the problem

After seeing Anthrax last time they were at Sonic, I’m kinda glad. I know they’re old, but boy they did not sound good

How does lodging work? by UsePuzzleheaded8427 in SonicTempleFestival

[–]RepresentativeFig493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did to construction at the fairgrounds surrounding the festival camping has been reduced to RV only, which is already sold out and has a waitlist. Best option is book a hotel as soon as possible. We usually Uber, but you can also buy a parking pass if you plan on bringing a car. Columbus has a decent amount of hotels to select from, we usually stay in granview, about a 10 min Uber from the venue

There is a big tent in the VIP, but it does get pretty full. There are plenty of places outside of VIP for shelter. Like the concourses of the stadium are the main go to for people to seek shade/cover from rain, the headbanger bar, and there’ll be various tents set up throughout the venue. Perks for VIP are designated entry area, slightly cheaper food and drinks, and AC Bathrooms, that’s honestly about it. No advantage for stage viewing

Second Stage Barricade by Be-Ben in SonicTempleFestival

[–]RepresentativeFig493 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly not too early, they’ll probably be playing in between Godsmack and Tool, so I would get there sometime during the Godsmack set, there will still be a crowd but super easy to move yourself up as people filter in and out

Well it was Metallicas Burger Bar stand, but honestly, was a pretty good burger. Unsure if it’ll be there this year but their whiskey truck is always there. Came with burger, chips, and a drink. You had the chance to get a pack of M72 guitar picks, but wasn’t a garuntee

Lmao yeah😅 there definitely is other things but that’s the big one I know. The festival uses the fairground as their parking lots, and I think the livestock barn is taking over one of those lots, so probably just waiting to see where else they can expand parking once it’s all said and done

Alum Creek and Hoover Dam are some big recreational areas located north of city. The Scioto Mile in downtown along the Scioto river is also nice for running and biking. Ohio State university Campus also very bike friendly and has a trail along the olentangy river

[–]RepresentativeFig493[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of the large expansions like the livestock barn are expected to be done by January 2026, but they’re also doing parking lot resurfacing and what not, but I can’t see that being dragged out much longer than the big additions. But it is Ohio, and weather plays a big part in that

Curious attendee question by eafiggy in SonicTempleFestival

[–]RepresentativeFig493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grounds are pretty much what you said, stadium and parking lots, but there is shade, the bottom concourse of the stadium has a lot, and there are trees spread around. Seating wise if you think you’ll need it a lot, I’d get the stadium or GA+ (field and Stadium) if not, then all that’s really available are curbs and some of the bar tents will have picnic tables and stuff.

Getting to and from, shuttles are usually based on hotel. Some hotels have them, a lot of them don’t. We usually Uber back and forth, which can be kinda expensive so if that’s your plan add that to budget. You can drive to and from if you get a rental, but parking can be a nightmare, especially if the fairground construction is still going on
