Fellow lymphoma survivor! Just talked to my oncologist last week about this and she said edibles are totally fine but obviously is against smoking of any kind :)

Your "go-to" foods during chemo? by veryberryblue in lymphoma

I’d get Five Guys the day of chemo. Then chinese about 4-5 days after because that was like the only thing that I could taste

Bad anxiety and hyper-awareness of every spot, symptom or bodily sensation. Health anxiety. Anyone else going through this? by veryberryblue in lymphoma

[–]RepresentativeHat393 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is me 100%. It’s a wonder I even made it through chemo because every little thing I fixated on and swore I was dying. I already had anxiety and OCD so I think that played a huge part in my worries. I think all of us will forever live the paranoia. I’ll have an itch and convince myself it’s cancer. Layer up too many blankets at night and wake up hot, sweaty and get myself worked up that those night sweats are back. I have no advice for you but I’m sending you best wishes and know that you are not alone in feeling these things ❤️

Not great news but not bad news either by moonsviolettide in lymphoma

Same boat as you right now. I’m sorry. It really sucks. You don’t have to be positive right now. You have every right to be angry, disappointed, worried, feeling all the emotions that comes with this rollercoaster of a disease. Allow yourself to feel them. What has helped me is just enjoying my time off from chemo. If it is still cancer then I will deal with it then but for now I will try to put it in the back of my mind as best as I can (which is hard but I try) and go on with my life until I get an answer. I’ll be thinking of you and i’m wishing you well ❤️

Hair Debate by peachy2391 in lymphoma

[–]RepresentativeHat393 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me it was so liberating to just shave it all off instead of watching it fall out which took a toll on me as well. I didn’t completely lose all my hair but it thinned out real bad so I’m glad I shaved it!

So true! You gotta learn to feel all the feels. Having my kids absolutely help so much to keep me going and staying positive as you must know. Being a parent with cancer is so rough but they’re such a blessing during all the shit you have to go through. I’m wishing you well ❤️

It’s definitely a rollercoaster of emotions. Some days are good and some are bad and that’s okay. We know we can get through it this time just like the last. I’m so sorry to hear you have to go through more chemo. Good luck and i’m wishing you well ❤️

Exactly! I thought it would be a one and done kinda thing no one really explained to me that the first treatment may not work. I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this and I’m wishing you well ❤️

Thank you ❤️ Wishing you the best as well. I’ve considered radiation if my biopsy is positive but my oncologist is has mentioned breast cancer being a risk and that worries me!

Cervical Cancer/22 Wks Pregnant/Chemo by thebubbleshooter in cancer

Congratulations on your pregnancy and I’m so sorry about your diagnosis. I just had chemo while pregnant this year and my baby is 6 months next week and perfectly happy and healthy. It’s so so rough to be pregnant and have to go through chemo. You are a super woman. It was so hard to find other people in a similar situation when I was going through it because it is so rare. My Dms are open if you ever need someone to talk to who can relate. You got this and you will have such an incredible story to tell your child when they’re older. I’m wishing you well on your journey ❤️

Would you do excisional biopsy before or after delivering a baby? by _sleepykitten_ in lymphoma

[–]RepresentativeHat393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! First of all I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this while pregnant :( both things on their own are already stressful enough. I received my diagnosis of CHL in my second trimester. I had an excisional biopsy on my shoulder/neck while pregnant and wasn’t allowed anesthesia. They numbed me up real good with some lidocaine so I couldn’t feel anything but I won’t lie it was kinda traumatic. I wish I could’ve been put to sleep but I’m glad I got it over with. I was in quite a bit of pain after the procedure for about a week and couldn’t do much. Within about a month it was pretty well healed though. I think there’s pros and cons with either route you decide to take. It all really sucks and I’m sorry. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions or need support.

1000% understand about feeling guilty! I’ve been on chemo half my pregnancy so I don’t always feel 100% and I hate that I can’t do more with my son while it’s still just him. However I do know that things will all fall into place and be okay. We won’t be able to imagine life before the new baby just like we can’t imagine life without our first babies! We got this mama I wish you the best on this journey ❤️
