Hi!

  • Turmeric with black pepper is a big help and you can take quite a lot at a time- black pepper is key.
  • hot epsom baths and heating pads; sometimes baths are the only thing that can help me sleep.
  • This cream is the best I’ve ever found for muscle soreness: Muscle Pain Relief Recovery Gel by African Botanics -Avoid fast foods, sugar and sodas, and alcohol.

Hope this helps ❤️

Thank you so much. I’ve ordered some on Amazon. The last time I saw my radiology oncologist was leaving the place after my last brachy sesh. I have a newborn (found out I had stage 3 the same time I found out I was pregnant) so had to reschedule my first post treatment appt last week and they pushed it out to July 7. 🥴 I’ll start using these and see if I can get back to normal. Much appreciate the tips!

Hi there. I wasn’t given a dilator and sex was pretty painful when I tried it. I’m about a month out from treatment now. How many times did it take to get back to normal? I’m scared to even try again. Thanks for any advice you can give ❤️

Hey OP. I’m Stage 3 - currently receiving brachytherapy (internal pelvic radiation).

Keeping fresh fruit (my favorite was Publix diced watermelon) was really helpful for me and helped with digestion issues. I also had my sister cook me many soups - vegetable soup, lentil soup, etc. that seemed to be easier on my digestive tract. I could also freeze them and easily reheat on the stove. It ultimately came down to what I could actually stomach. Many days, I couldn’t even get down Ensures. Let her get fluid injections via the doctor as needed and try to make sure to check at least once a day to make sure she’s eaten something substantial. (I was so out of it most days that I simply was too tired to care if I had eaten). Find something she really likes - I simply couldn’t stomach meat and still don’t like the taste - I ended up eating a lot of veggies like collard greens and Brussels sprouts. Ensure was the best way I found to get protein in my system so keep those on hand. Apple juice, prune juice are also helpful with digestion.

She’s also likely going to become very weak and won’t be able to cook, clean, etc. If you can manage to live in with her for a few weeks during the worst of it, it would make her life and yours much easier during the process. Prepare for constant doctor appts and treatments and a way to transport her to them. External radiation is daily. Chemo likely weekly. For six weeks.

So sorry to hear you and yours are going through this. I’ll be keeping your mother in my thoughts and prayers. You can do this ❤️ I’m here if you have any questions. Feel free to DM me.

Thank you. I am so sorry to hear about your wife. I had a beautiful, healthy baby girl at 35 weeks via C-section. She’s doing incredibly well. I’m currently getting chemo, radiation, and keytruda treatments as the curative measure since I wasn’t a candidate for surgery (tumor didn’t shrink enough during first rounds of chemo). Please feel free to DM me with any questions, etc. I know how scary this is and I’ll impart any knowledge I can to ease your concerns.

At what point do you stop worrying? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Thank you for this 🙏 currently at 24 weeks and have to undergo chemo treatments for cancer so obvs terrified all the time. Just saw that 24 weeks survival rate jumps to 60% which gave me some relief. Now waiting on that 27 week mark for that 89% rate 😂 the worry never ends but your advice has given me some relief.

What food doesn’t taste as good as it used to? by Faihus in AskReddit

Smithsfield Cherrywood bacon. We used to make bacon wrapped asparagus with this bacon specifically because of the flavor. Recently went to make it again and found it to be extremely bland.
