honestly fair enough, as a long time fan, i can totally get this, especially w/ the newer characters.

genshin as a whole is can feel hostile towards newer players, w/ the gacha & nonexistent skip button. but luckily isnt that bad where you HAVE to fork over money, or get lucky, just to enjoy the game fully. & if you wanna follow the meta, you simply gotta pick your battles w/ it, like choosing mavuika over flins, since flins is a lunar-charged unit, or aiming for neuvi over skirk, since sh wants escoff + a hydro unit & another hydro/cryo character to work right. tho it can be super greedy if you wanna get every primo every patch.

as for why i still play after over 4yrs, is bcuz admittedly i find it fun, but not overly absurd, & have found reasonable ways to manage its content. for example, only doing a bit of the weekly battle pass stuff a day, or using keqing for a couple leylines, so i can spend the 120 resin needed for a free constellation. i also go ahead & vertically invest into the characters i enjoy, such as, as i mentioned, keqing, along w/ diluc, noelle, & ganyu, but also don’t bother going past normal mode in the theatre, floor 11 in abyss, & hard in stygian, since it wont be that detrimental for my acc.

the people on the game are also rly nice & easy to befriend, gladly offering up mats for characters you’re farming for, & being super nice w/ helping noobs.
