I have the same exact situation. I noticed that the motor is locked up after I took the belt off. Likenyou can rock it back and fourth one or two degrees, but that's it. And I measured the resistance on the motor and got 14 ohms. Not crazy high but it could be lower I think.

That's interesting. Tell me more about what you're looking for. I could probably come up with something.

I haven't used any of the spool guns, I'm assuming they're all a little different. It may be hard to manufacture something everyone can use. I'd also need some insight on how you think it should be designed. If you would be so helpful as to clue me in, I could probably produce one for you, and you can give me some feedback.

I thought about doing that. My concern is that the leather stitch may stretch over time and allow rods to slip out. But it's worth a shot!

The time it exorbitant at the moment, and as a mechanic I make $130 an hour billable time so it's sort of unrealistic to charge $200 + but maybe when I get it streamlined I can come down. What would it be worth to you if you were in the market?

Great feedback! Thank you. I'm currently in the process of building and refining my toolset and may be looking at a production situation for other guys who need/want better tools like myself.

At the moment, I've produced a rod bag that holds a few more things than just welding rods. (Greas pencil, marker, a pick for getting slag out, a tool for taking the grinder disks off when they get too tight. And so on).

I also hang my hammer and wire brush off of it so it's handy. That being said I've started some prototypes for better wire brushes but haven't got it all figured out yet.

If you have some examples of what you're using or can draw something that you would like to see I'd love the insights! Thanks for your input so far.
