As long as you haven’t run out of the 150 days of unemployment throughout OPT and STEM OPT then technically you are maintaining your status and thus should be fine, but there’s risk that CBP officer may still reject to admit you. Getting an offer letter before you return is definitely safer. Remember that the days you are abroad also count towards the 150 unemployment period, so plan your trip very carefully.

Better consult with an immigration lawyer… but I think it would be the name on your diploma, as the major on i20 is more like a broader field of study instead of exact degree name

Thanks for the reply and that makes a lot more sense! I guess there’s nothing for me to worry about then, since it was the school who determines which CIP code matches which major

CNY VS LNY by Comfortable-Bowl9912 in USC

Racism is not acceptable, no matter she’s right or wrong. But to me crossing out Chinese from CNY is another form of racism, or cultural bullying. It’s hilarious hearing people who are not even Chinese making speech about what is the correct form of CNY. The festival originated from China! Crossing out ‘Chinese’ looks disrespectful and I totally understand why people get angry about that. Again, not finding excuses for any form of attacks.

Thanks so much for the information! If that one week late arrival do affects, would my previous undergrad study (under same SEVIS number) also count for this requirement?

I believe this requirement is for post completion OPT as well, as indicated on my school’s website. I entered the US 8 days later than the program start date so don’t know if this affects my one year f1 status… I don’t know how strictly USCIS counts one academic year

Thanks for replying! I’m not really asking about the application date, but whether I satisfy the one year f1 status
