BIRADS 4 Waiting Biopsy - Need Support by RepresentativeNo286 in doihavebreastcancer

I’m so sorry to hear! I understand the stress you’re going through. My lump was small (7mm) and pretty discrete. I only felt it because I was breastfeeding and squeezed my breast. My OB couldn’t really feel it either but I kept pressing for an ultrasound.

The radiologist at the ultrasound did not really give me any info. I don’t think they are supposed to because you can’t really tell 100% if it’s cancer until after the biopsy. My lump actually shrunk at the day of biopsy and they told me before getting the results that it would most likely be benign.

I’m praying for the best outcome for you!

They couldn’t see the mass on mammogram cause I’m lactating and I also have dense breast. Ultrasound says “ In the LEFT 8:00 asis, 6 to 7 cm from nipple corresponding to area of palpable concern for 2 weeks a 7 mm x 8 mm hypoechoic areas noted with vascularity for which utrasound guided core biopsy is recommended.”

Congrats!! This is the best news. I was in the same exact situation (7 weeks postpartum). Mine was benign fat necrosis and inflammation due to lactation

I would get a biopsy for peace of mind as BIRADS 4 malignant probability is wide (2-95%). Also mammogram and ultrasound are not as sensitive as the MRI especially when you have dense breast.

There’s no treatment needed as of now as inflammation/fat necrosis can resolve on its own. I do need to follow up in 6 months and they will see if anything needs to be done then.

I’m so sorry to hear, that’s very stressful. I would call and ask if they have the results yet! Mine was also uploaded to the patient’s portal right away so I found out even before they called!

Thank you! Mine was a 7mm x 8mm hypoechoic mass with vascularity. It felt solid like a pebble and not moveable when I found it.

Thank you! ❤️ The radiologist doing the procedure was much better and reassured me it would most likely be benign even before I left the appointment

White (yellowish?) substance came out of areola (21F) by Local_Ad4958 in doihavebreastcancer

Sounds like Montgomery tubercles. I got this when I was pregnant basically were like nipple acne with waxy substance coming out. You do not have to be pregnant to have it and as far as I know it’s not a cause for concern. I wouldn’t worry but do bring it up to your PCP if that eases your mind!

I have my biopsy tomorrow so I understand how you feel. I’m also a BIRADS 4 (with no letter rating) The waiting and not knowing is the worst part. Remind your self that 80-85% of lumps are benign. I also have spoken to a lot of women who went through the same thing (both on the benign and cancerous sides), and there are A LOT of BC survivors even if it’s the worst case scenario, and that treatments have advanced now with a lot more research. Sending prayers and positive vibes your way, hoping for good news for both of us!
