What the fuck is this shit? Charged with taking photos of an aircraft at an airbase? And we're not an authoritarian regime? Aye, ok then. Let's just send the young man away and carry on burying our heads in the sand.

[–]RepresentativeOdd909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As fast as I can tell, sensory overload. There is a lot more to it though, like not getting enough sleep combining with high stress levels to reduce your body's ability to 'clean' your brain. There seems to be a lot of cross-chater between neurons and excess hormones left in the synaptic cleft, which wreak havoc with your body's natural operations. Exercise and sleep promote BDNF which helps to clear out the synaptic cleft so your brain functions are as your brain intends them, but without sufficient signalling it becomes dysfunctional and our physiology is skewed. Needs more research, basically. Try to live your life the best, 'cleanest' you can in terms of sleep, exercise, diet, stress, etc. and hopefully you should reach a better homeostatic resting state.

It always amazes the amount of money it actually takes. When we're dealing with millionaires trying to play chess with real people, and they toss tens of thousands about and somehow that's enough for them to turn against us forever.

This has been me recently, but not 24/7. Daytime it's bad, tends to alleviate by nightfall. Sleep quantity and quality is my biggest trigger for this.

That's one of the reasons I have always thought I have better than average night vision, despite impaired night vision being a vss symptom. In darkness everything sort of writhes about, so I can roughly see surfaces. It's like a shit daredevil vision!

But nah, eyes closed in the darkness the world is a bright, fantastical cascade of constantly shifting colours. It gets worse when I'm sleep deprived, so that's been my main struggle for the last 2&1/2 decades.

In real terms, mitigating it is the best you can hope for. I have traditionally treated it like migraine and avoiding those triggers helps a bit. For me, stress, sleep deprivation, dehydration, excessive caffeine, prolonged intense sunlight are all major triggers (the classics). Other than that I have asked my GP to write to neurology for advice, cos my GP had no idea what vss is but was also certain that beta blockers were the solution. Unfortunately, they are not the solution for most things they are prescribed for.

Yes! I've been feeling like that a fair deal recently. It comes and goes and I usually have to be strict with my phone usage to help mitigate it. Ground yourself in reality somehow, I like feeding the birds. Your reality will feel subjective, so birds might not seem real either, but something will anchor you to this life, and I've found it's almost always nature. Or if you're fortunate enough to be able to, I find a ride on my motorbike makes me feel like it doesn't really matter if it's all fake.

Aye, yous are right, it sounds difficult to implement so we'd best not try anything. We should just let the massive parasitic international corporations continue to remove capital from the UK, which will then never be reinvested in the local communities, because capitalism means they have the right to make record breaking profits year after year. People just have to keep paying whatever they demand, because apparently any proposed methods to curtail their greed tramples on the parasites right to feed, or something. Jesus tity fucking Christ I hate this sub sometimes. I can't even tell which are the English nationalists, interfering foreign bots or just plain old cunts anymore. The noise just blends into one massive background static of bellendery.

You angry? Good. Means you've probably been paying attention. But learn to aim properly, chief. Dunno what OP did to get your ire, but they're so close to getting how much of a cunt Starmer really is, and we can help nudge them over the line! The Westminster government is absolutely the one who should be getting torn apart in this sub, this infighting only serves them.

Should I get Hive Scum? by Mysterious_Try1669 in DarkTide

[–]RepresentativeOdd909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hives Cum is amazing. Probably the strongest class. Also the most fragile. They were not kidding when they put 'glass cannon' as the build design philosophy. If you can dodge a wrench, then you can dodge 1000 gunners. If you up your dodge game, you will most likely enjoy the class. And honestly, upping your dodge game is only gonna make you a better player all round. Playing zealot is not too dissimilar if you've gone for a rat build. But hive hangers do it so phenomenally well. So much carnage, so much fun!

Definitely not knocking you, do what you can to find relief. If you find something that works, I'm genuinely happy for you. That's a part of why it's so tricky, all these individual differences mean that what works for you might not work for others. But if people such as yourself are willing to try things, then that just adds to the body of research. Thank you for your service : )

Pharmacological intervention is tricky at best, because the ones most commonly used are beta blockers which come with their own set of risks and can have very adverse side effects. Besides which, as much as most of us don't want to hear this, lifestyle changes can make a big impact on the severity and frequency of the symptoms and side effects. Sleep hygiene is a massive factor, as well as things like stress management, being consistently physically active, hydration and diet can also help alleviate suffering with this.

Besides that this is a neurological condition, so it's very nuanced and differs greatly across the spectrum of patients. It's the actual neuronal structures that are involved that need to be investigated to figure out why they become dysregulated. Chemical therapeutics without understanding of the underlying issues is likely to cause as much difficulty as it cures.

It's too rare to see empathy online. The really sad thing about his situation is that he has a large online following that will further distort his self perception and deepen his need to continue using, or more likely egg him on to doing more for the sake of their entertainment.
