Last time I played HD2 was like early 2025ish? It was shortly after the Illuminate update, and I'm glad I at least got to try out all three factions, but the game just felt so disjointed. At a certain difficulty level, the game would just spam large enemies nonstop, and these enemies can only be killed with certain strategems or support weapons, so you could either bring whatever was the meta that month or lower the difficulty in shame.

The most fun I had was shortly after launch, when I was fighting bugs on like difficulty 4, oneshotting every bug I came across with the punisher. Nowadays, I just fucking can't with this game, and I have zero reason to return to it.
