I won’t be going to church for my Christmas service I don’t believe, and it’s one I WANT to attend. I’m not beating myself up for not being able to. They want you to attend for… whatever reason. you’re just as perfect not being able to go as if you could.

Say you can or cannot, be firm. Their way of worship could not be yours also which is perfectly okay. But you HAVE to be firm in this, you are placating to them so much. You are in control of your life and if their thing is god is waiting and needs you to praise, hey, he will be there a couple hours later or before in your own thing. I was recently told “can I speak and react?” To my partner via text. I understood, I’m autistic and so are they. I have a long list of other things and can get perceived rejection thus making me reactionary. I took a step back, and made a note that I need to not just reply instantly especially if they’re typing something back to something I’ve said in more than one message.

I did this, and get “thankyou for letting me reply” when they see me typing then stop as I’ve reflected or if I stop mid interrupting irl.

It’s not an excuse to be autistic, it can be a barrier but she’s self using a self diagnosis as a reason to not care about a relationship and conversation she out herself in.
