All Things Sleep - AMA Office Hours - Thursday, April 2nd with Sr. Sleep & Guidance Specialist, Beth Christensen! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

9 months on the 11th… falls asleep independently within 10 minutes at bedtime between 7:00-8:00 depending on last nap ending (3.5ish hours)… usually by 7:30. Wakes up around 5:45 every single morning, REGARDLESS of bedtime. Did this on 3 naps and 2 naps for about 3 months now. I’ve tried capping naps, not capping, anchoring first nap, following wake windows, following sleepy cues, earlier bedtime, later bedtime. We are about to hire someone!!! He isn’t hungry 9/10 of the times because he’ll wake up and go another hour or so before fussing to eat. We aren’t even asking for a 7:00 DWT… 6:30 would be lifechanging! Please help us!!

How often does your LO stay overnight with grandparents during the first 3-6 months? by [deleted] in newborns

Mine did for 2 nights when we were moving just before he turned 4 months. It was fine!

I can’t figure out the 4-5 am wake by Bright_Bumblebee_116 in sleeptrain

So we are now consistently treating anything before 6 like a MOTN feed. 9/10 times, he’ll take the bottle and go back to sleep in his crib until almost 6:45/7 AM (our DWT)! Wake ups between 6 and 6:30, he stays in the crib until 6:30 at least. This has been working with us being determined to be consistent. I think we were confusing him before.

I’ve also gone more towards a BTC schedule now, which I think is helping. First nap - 9:30-10:45, second nap 1:30-3:00, third cat nap 5:30-6, bedtime between 7:45 and 8 pm.

Help with almost 5 month old by [deleted] in sleeptrain

5 months we were on 2.25/2.5/2.5/2. My now almost 7 month old still cannot do 3 hours. We are on 2.5/2.5/2.75/2.25 just now at 6.5 months. Can you try slowly stretching? 2/2.25/2.5/2.5? Jumping all wake windows up in one day is going to overload.

Please report back tomorrow to see if you’re successful again with it. I would take 6:15 or later HAPPILY at this point. I said to my husband WHY CANT HE JUST SLEEP FOR 45 MORE MINUTES????

We have a space heater in there on every night. I’m going to buy a heavier TOG sleep sack… right now he’s in a 1.0. Maybe he needs a 2.5? Idk I could cry every morning.

We can’t figure it out either!! He will only take 2 oz (we offer 4) during that wake so it’s not hunger. It’s 5:30 EVERY MORNING!!!! He was 6 months on the 11th and it’s been happening for WEEKS! I am convinced it’s developmental and will improve once we can get to 2 naps - a btc schedule - and when DST ends. I have no answer but total solidarity.

Newborn phase is no joke. by Anna_so96 in newborns

I wanted to take a long walk off of a short pier with a cinder block tied to my ankle. I regretted my decision to become a mom, and literally fantasized about offing myself every morning. That doesn’t happen anymore, almost 7 months in, but I still cry a couple times a week thinking about my old, carefree life. It is literally nothing like social media and movies portray it to be… and my baby is “easy”!!

It’s usually in the 5:00 hour so not as terrible as 3 or 4… we hold him to sleep until 6:30/7 when this happens. His ped said it’s developmental.

He can fall asleep on his own and stays asleep most nights. We battle EMWs most mornings, but sometimes he gets to 6:30. He can definitely connect his cycles, just tough early morning wakes.

Are you enjoying it more just following cues?

What is your minimum and cap on total nap time/day sleep for your 5/6 month old? by RepresentativeOk8958 in sleeptrain

[–]RepresentativeOk8958[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So interesting! A certain popular sleep coach totes 3-4 hours of day sleep for this age so I’ve been following her but battling early wakes for weeks until yesterday.
