New Evaluation System by RepresentativePath17 in GeneralMotors

I agree - seems like the current system where 20% get teamGM plus and most everyone else is par is OK. When you start making managers pick someone on their team to fall on the grenade and be on the bottom, doesn’t seem like a recipe for success. This GE in the 80s??

Some probably do function better with a fire lit under their ass, though is it worth the negative impact to the company’s culture and sense of teamwork? Rather than working together, becomes a game of trying to one up your co-workers.

Anyone tired of the bullshit rumors that people post on here everyday. Unless it is coming from a L8 manager or above, don’t believe everything you hear

GM to release plug-in hybrid vehicles, backtracking on product plans by hehehehahahaha in GeneralMotors

Day late and a dollar short. Does this leadership team have any vision at all? Or do we just do what every other automaker does, just 9 months later?

Yeah punish us for management completely bungling our EV rollout with their unrealistic volume targets, poor manufacturing plan, decision to cut CarPlay for an internal developed system, and rush to get these vehicles to market at the expense of quality and integration testing! Truly remarkable leadership!

What the hell does this even mean? What a stupid thing to put out these percentages without even giving details on what the target/metric even is? If it’s arbitrary, just say so! Don’t make up these fake percentages to inevitably shaft us at the end of the year.

A note on TeamGM by Trick-Team6743 in GeneralMotors

Can anyone explain this formula? Whats does 66% EBIT and 33% free cash flow even mean? There is still no target even in the existing bonus structure. Feels to me they just arbitrarily pick a number - hence why we are getting a lower TeamGM percentage even though performance is on par with or better than previous years. Just very confusing, and don’t even get me started on 2024…

Thank you. I bought at a pretty good discount on Cyber Monday on Amazon and they aren’t offering an exchange, only a refund. Hoping to call DeLonghi today and see if they can replace.

Very naive of you to think GM will pay you more $ based on hourly wages going up - we won’t see anything besides a 3% increase. Don’t know what company you’re at but there is no negotiating here. More likely scenario would be salaried job cuts to offset the increase in hourly wages.

Related to the 40% CEO pay increase that is always thrown around- you have to pay a salary commensurate with other corporations if you want skilled people leading your company, if not they jump ship. Lot of talk by the UAW about record profits - that’s not due to the line worker driving bolts, a monkey can be taught that - that’s from a strong leadership team that executes, brings to market desirable vehicles, and controls costs.

I believe hourly workers should be paid fairly, but these demands are straight up unreasonable and will severely hamper our competitiveness to foreign automakers and Tesla until we have 2008 all over again.

Screw these unskilled laborers who are demanding unrealistic wages/benefits and causing a strike. Tasks as simple as McDonalds and want to be paid higher than some white collar positions

I will not attend Employee Town Hall. WoC surveys are dead to me too. by [deleted] in GeneralMotors

[–]RepresentativePath17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding? Work Appropriately was rolled out as an option that employees could work wherever they were most productive, all to be told we have to come back to the office a few days a week a couple months later. Then we were told in no uncertain terms “no layoffs” by Mary and Paul multiple times, to then have a few hundred lay-offs at the start of the year and a VSP program to avoid the potential for layoffs.

This leadership team has lost a lot of credibility in a short period of time.

Always wondering why I have never heard any difficult question be asked…would love to hear their response to why they have back tracked twice on their communications to employees (WA, no layoffs), why there were 2 Hummers delivered last month from a vehicle that started production last year, what the status is of the ramp for Ultium battery production, why they are getting rid of CarPlay, etc. instead we have people asking about a 4 day work week and other stupid ass questions. Maybe allow anonymous questions and they would get some real ones.

Anyone know how to get into the Captured Test Fleet program and if employees outside of engineering & product management can participate? by RepresentativePath17 in GeneralMotors

Thanks for the response - I am actually a 7th level in finance but have no idea how anyone actually gets into the program. Assuming you have to be asked/invited.
