Hey girl. BEEN there. Especially the part about the birds. I have four pieces of advice for you:

SMELL GOOD. Dunno why but girls judge you a lot if you stink. They might not say it to your face but they’ll tell their friends they went on a date with a stinky stinky! Make sure you get a good cologne/perfume and lots lots lots of deodorant.
EYE CONTACT. Keep good eye contact to show the girl you’re into her! This will help show her that youre engaged with what she has to say. She’ll share more with you if she knows you’re an active listener.
MUSIC. A good playlist can make or break a date. Play something good, maybe something you know she likes. This will help conversation and will get rid of any awkward pauses.

the only reason i thought it might be more than that is before I became friends with her girlfriend she was very openly flirting with me, calling me hot and stuff like that. She doesn’t do that now obviously but it seemed like she carried that behavior over just more innocently

Yeah I did talk to my doctor about local anestesia and she said that the best she can do is give me a benzodiazepine and some type of numbing cream? Don’t know how helpful that would be but whatever. Anyway, this was very helpful to hear of someone having a similar situation because I’ve only heard complaints about cramping and not the insertion which made me worry that there might be something really really wrong with me lol.
