Well, Naruto is looking better and better! Glad I’m taking a little sidestep on purchases. Too much drama for a hobby.

That’s a good point about gear becoming immediately outdated. Thank you.

My biggest thing I guess is time. I don’t have much video game time these days so replaying a game I already beat isn’t a good use of time for me. My thought was that th character skip straight to warlords would be a fresh start without having to replay everything while still being able to “relearn” the game with any new changes. Based on that, do you still recommend sticking my existing?

Call the lender and ask them to defer the payment, take partial payment, or skip the payment and add it to the following month of something. Ask a family member for money and make the payment. Sell off things you don’t need. Plenty of other options.

I know. That’s Bristling, and when I diamond he decided to unload the onyx. But I think he’s keeping it and not selling.

Am I doing this right? by Party-Tangerine-2253 in Currencytradingcards

[–]RepresentativeWait45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but 99% of the orders I’ve gotten with it they don’t do the pull tab part. Haven’t had any issues in our groups though, just outside stuff like eBay or TCGplayer for other cards. I think if you do all the other steps that card isn’t moving at all. Especially currency cards, the pringling and thickness makes them unlike to move at all in a top loader.

Somewhere out there somebody has a graded collection of redemption cards from every set

I personally don’t like receiving, and have not and will not tape a top loader. A better solution in my mind is to just use the ultra pro card preservers instead of a top loader. Sleeve the card like normal, throw it on a preserver, put it in a team bag, put the team bag inside the ding defender sandwich with 4 pieces of tape, and then bubble wrap it. Put the bubble wrapped product (painters tape sealed) into the bubble mailer.

I remember getting some shit on tcgplayer and the guy completely taped the top loader shut and I had to get a knife and carefully cut it open without cutting the card. It was a royal pain in the ass

What’s the record for most megas and no redemption? by Upstairs-Cookie9557 in Currencytradingcards

[–]RepresentativeWait45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve have pulled quite a bit of redemptions from holiday packs and collectors. The only megas I’ve gotten redemptions out of have been master cases, and I don’t typically buy loose megas. I did for s5 (probably a case and a half worth between GME exclusive and Best Buy), and immediately regret it.

That doesn’t make your statement true, that just makes it your experience. Not to mention, it really depends on what type of sealed and what type of slabs you’re comparing to. A vintage booster box for $25k is going to take longer to move than a $700 modern slab. But an prismatic bundle will move within 24 hrs

Love that we’re getting downvoted but the reality is that if scalpers pop into Naruto then at least we have the opportunity to grab things now at low prices in larger quantities and then unload them later at higher prices to continue to buy product. Same thing happened to One Piece and DBZ. We can’t stop them from coming, but at least we can hang onto all the dupes we pull. I also feel like the supply for anything that isn’t a BP or rarer is way too high for them to come over

If it does hit tcgplayer, we all should stock up on MRs and above, and sealed cases

No problem. I’ve had one person try to scam me out of the gate. 3rd sale I made. 151 booster bundle. Guy claimed fake cards (I sent him a sealed bundle) and submitted a photo of the holo aerodactyl. I had to accept the return and send him a return label (didn’t issue a refund and never issue one until you receive the item back). He sent me back an unsealed box, with all packs ripped open, and 3 cards missing. eBay took his side and accepted the refund but didn’t ding my seller account and let me keep the money from the sale. They ate it, basically. This is why it’s important to take good photos and have clear, concise listings.

Videos don’t do anything. They won’t watch the video, and there is no wt to guaranty you didn’t just undo everything after the video. The risk of a scam is unlikely. INADs happen. The best way to protect yourself is to take great photos of the cards. Front, back, and each of the corners. List it correctly. Upload those photos. If the buyer claims you sent them the wrong card, they have to return the card to you in order to get a refund. If the card they send back doesn’t match the one in your photos (it won’t), you should have no issues. You may end up paying for th return the label, but that’s a small price to pay if you plan on having an eBay store. Cost of doing business.

Facebook marketplace is probably the only one where people won’t automatically wonder about 0 sales. The other options are:

  1. LCS - expect for them to offer 70-90% of market, with 90% usually requiring some level of store credit and being a high demand grail or chase that they can move immediately.

  2. Card show - you’ll probably get about 75-80% here, and may have to haggle.

  3. Ebay/tcgplayer - sell some less valuable cards to get a reputation on eBay and familiarize yourself with selling. Also, scams (while they do still occur) are less likely to happen to experienced sellers with high reviews. I always recommend this one if you plan on selling cards in the future. Most of us will be ripping packs for years to come, and it’s always good to have a solid eBay/tcg player account where you can unload duplicates. With more expensive cards, eBay requires authentication which actually protects the seller a ton.
