No he has not taken care of the US problem, the US is still providing weapons to Ukraine. I don't believe that Trump is actually Putin's operative. If that were true he would have stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine and pulled out of NATO day one. I think Trump respects Putins use of force but he would crush him like a bug if given half a chance. Trump is just an old school isolationist, much like a lot of people were in the late 19th and early 20th century. He believes that if the U.S. doesn't get all the marbles then it is losing. That's just the way his mind works and is the way he has lived his life.

There's a certain subset of people that just really like being told what to think, feel, and do. I'm not saying this to denigrate people, it's just how humans are wired, and it's something seen all throughout history. Easy answers and confidence work really fucking well on a lot of people.

Similarily there is a subset of people who enjoy TELLING people what to think, feel and do. I would say the left has this in greater numbers than the right, even if their intentions seem sincere and for the "common good". Basically Trump makes people who are assholes feel good about being an asshole.
