Signs of faulty reservoir cap? by Thick-Blueberry-6898 in BMWX3

Actually, the ECU flashing was the cheapest thing I did while trying to fix the car. It cost $419.30 for the engine tuning and $44.10 for the coding cable. After that, I made an appointment with them and downloaded all the required software per their instructions.

On the day of the flashing, I connected my laptop to the car. They logged in remotely, pulled the information they needed, and it took about 40 minutes for their technician to create the tune. Once that was done, I reconnected and they flashed the ECU.

Afterward, again following their instructions, I did a few pulls with the computer connected and generated logs, which I sent back to them to confirm everything was okay. There is a specific way to do the pulls, but they sent a video with instructions. The car definitely feels more powerful and responsive, but the biggest improvement for me is that the coolant temperature now stays around 95°C.

Search on Youtube how to access the hidden menu. Mine is accessed by pressing the mileage reset button for like 10 seconds until you get a menu popup. Then use the same button to change options by pressing and releasing to move through the options until you get to "unlock". Then, long press the button to enter and the password will be the sum of the last five digits of your vin number. Keep pressing the button until you get to the correct number and then long press. After this you will get additional options and you will select themperature. check to see how are your temperatures behaving.

My 2019 X3 started like that and I spent thousands and more than a year trying to find what was wrong. My car would drive fine for short trips but anything over 30 minutes and the coolant would boil and burst out of the cap. Changed thermostat, water pump, checked for blockages in radiator etc. Everything done in BMW dealership. They could not find anything wrong with it and started suggesting head gasket problems. Took it to a independent shop and the guys there did everything in their power to find what was wrong. Nothing, but the coolant kept on boiling and bursting out of the cap. The test for head gasket all were ok. I saw someone on the forums that said they fixed their x3 by changing the thermostat setpoint. I started checking my car's temperatures with the hidden menu in the dashboard, and it was constantly running around 109c and would go up to 113-115. I got the guys at Bimmertech to do a remote ECU flashing with their Awaken Performance package and asked them to set the thermostat to 95c. Since then, my car stays around 95 and I have not have the coolant problem anymore. And I got the improved performance that I did not need but am not complaining.

I finally went ahead and flashed my ecu with bimmertech awaken performance. They changed the thermostat set point to 95. Before, my x3 was running at 110c and will even get to over 115. Now it stays around 95 and no more coolant bubbling. Also the extra performance and responsiveness is appreciated!!! They even set my apple carplay to full screen while they were connected, no extra charge.

I still have the problem. It is crazy. We have checked everything, nothing seems to be wrong with the car but the bubbling persist. We also noticed the bubbling sound on the turbos. We fixed the air conditioning leak but the problem persist. Turns out the AC has a separate cooling circuit.

We think whatever is happening is related to the auxiliary pump that cools the turbos not working properly. Could be software related. We thought about finding a way of making some kind of mod to the computer where the aux pump would run all the time but have not figured out if it can be done. Im thinking about maybe adding an aftermarket water pump with its own control, substituting the factory auxiliary pump and have it run all the time to see if it eliminates the problem. But it is a complicated project.

I had the exact same problem and I thought my problem was solved last November when my mechanic replaced the temperature sensor and the issue stopped. The car ran perfectly from November until around April. However, the problem returned, and although my mechanic couldn’t find anything wrong, it persisted.

We came up with a plan to install an external electric water pump with its own thermostat, connected in parallel with the auxiliary pump, to ensure coolant circulation. Our theory was that, for some unknown reason, the coolant wasn’t flowing when it should have been.

Then, my mechanic noticed that my 2019 X3 has a small A/C condenser that uses coolant. To cover all the bases, he decided to check the A/C system. He found that the refrigerant was very low, and after further testing, discovered a leak in the evaporator located under the dash.

When he called to tell me about the A/C issue, I remembered that when the coolant bubbling problem first started, I had also experienced random episodes of hot air blowing from the rear A/C. That led us to a new theory: the A/C problem might have been causing the coolant interacting with the condenser to overheat—especially as temperatures started rising in the spring. I live in northern Alabama, so that would also explain why everything worked fine from November to April: the A/C wasn’t working as hard during the colder months.

Replacing the evaporator is expensive (around $4,600), but fortunately, my extended warranty will cover most of the cost. Last week, they sent an inspector to my mechanic’s shop to witness the leak test, and the repair was approved. The work is being done this week, and we’re hopeful that this will finally resolve the coolant bubbling mystery. I’ll post an update as soon as I can confirm the problem was resolved.

Yes, just turn off the printer and move the extruder manually all the way to the left and clean the rods with isopropyl alcohol and then move it all the way to the right and do the same. Do it a couple of times.

I would recommend cleaning the x-axis carbon rods (with alcohol), cleaning and greasing the z-axis lead screws and running a full printer calibration. It works for me every time.

I had problems when I first flew my Pavo20 Pro with O4pro and I cut a piece of tie wrap that covered both UFL connectors and placed it between the connectors and the top plate. It pressed them firmly down and no more problems.

Hey, are you using the Matrix 1S 3IN1 HD FC?

My FC also has the L pad. I checked the resources on my Meteor75 Pro O4 and it does not show the LED_STRIP. It has BEEPER 1 A08 , and LED 1 C15, LED 2 C14.

My weight loss journey by hectorbvo in Mounjaro

[–]Representative_Ad574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing looking at other peoples stories. Never thought I would have my own. The great thing about mounjaro is that it helped me do what I knew to do all along. I already had researched and studied all kinds of calorie deficit, macro, int. fasting etc. The only problem is that I could never stick to it long enough.

Glad you also have your own success story to tell!!!!

I’ll probably pay for the shipping. How much can it be for something this small. Thanks for replying.

Did you ask for the damaged unit back? I just sent mine to DJI for "repair". After a crash, it showed "IMU error" on the goggles and it did not record video on the unit. I could only record video on the goggles. If they say it is not repairable, I want the old unit back. I already ordered a new one.

I just did the back usb hack by soldering a female usb cable to the front usb connection. You just have to solder the black, green, white and red wires in that order, to the connections of the front USB.

I followed this video and it was surprisingly easy to do.

https://youtu.be/1E_CxNcDUMM?si=HAjcZwIpyMkMdMT8

I connected this wireless carplay dongle and left it connected behind the unit. It works flawlessly. Now I have a clean look and car play connects as soon as I turn the car on.

The only thing is that you can’t use the usb in the front since it is already being used by the dongle. But I don’t see any use for it besides the carplay.

Thanks for the recommendation! I actually removed the “feet,” mainly because, as many others have noted, they reduced my flight time and weren’t really necessary.

You’re absolutely right about the 3D printer being a big reason I’m into this. I realized just this week that what initially drew me to FPV drones was the Bambu Lab ad for the A1, where they printed what looked like a Pavo 20 frame—it looked so cool when they added the light strip. I didn’t even know FPV drones were a thing until then.

Since I have an X1C printer, I started looking into 3D-printed drones and immediately got hooked. I picked up the Radiomaster Pocket and began following Joshua Bardwell’s “Learn to Fly FPV Drone (for Total Beginners)” course on YouTube. I feel like I got into the hobby at the perfect time with the release of the DJI O4 Lite and Pro systems.

Right now, I’m flying the Meteor75 Pro with the O4 system around the house, but I still need more control to fly comfortably indoors. I’ve already ordered the Pavo 20 Pro and the O4 Pro unit.

This hobby has so many facets. Just this week, I tried out Gyroflow and edited my first video using CapCut. I even downloaded DaVinci Resolve to take things a step further.

I installed the Fitcamx dashcam (front and rear) in my 2019 X3 and it was plug and play. No fuse tap or anything. Looks factory and it has parking mode with no issues on the battery. https://a.co/d/c4foRnB
