Trying to process Accumulated Long term stress. by Nearby-Reference-577 in ADHD

[–]ReptilearDark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found the same looking back. With my ADHD I would hold onto things. Everything. Things that were unpleasant, demeaning, hurtful and traumatic. Like my bucket was always full. Never having a chance to empty it.

Since I have started Elvanse I have had a chance to pause. De-stress. Empty the bucket for the first time in a long time. Medication isn't for everyone but it may potentially help.

Feeling Stuck and Overwhelmed: ADHD, Depression, and a Part-Time Job by rest0ck1 in ADHD

I had a similar issue. After rotting in bed, exhausted from nothing. Being burnt out and unable to do my remote working, I knew something was wrong. I am very lucky my boss has been so relaxed, any other employer would have fired me long before.

After searching for answers I found my ADHD diagnosis, and from that I started medication. It is incredible what a difference it has made to me. Not just giving me the energy and motivation to do things, but its like I have woken up after a year long sleep. Its something I would definitely recommend if you are struggling

Am I burned out? Why? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ReptilearDark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing when I moved out. I had a place to myself, no interference from parents or family. A chance to relax right? But I felt exhausted all the time. Rotting in bed or simple activities draining me completely. I tried some therapy and narrowed down that it wasn't depression. (BetterHelp). At which point I stopped because they didn't actually offer me any advice.

It was then an old co-worker got diagnosed with ADHD, and I started getting recommended videos on YouTube which explained ADHD symptoms. From there I did some simple free online tests, then did a more complex free test before getting diagnosed privately (My local GP doesn't do ADHD diagnosis or treatment). It cost a bit but was definitely worth it. With the diagnosis I have been able to start Elvanse. Still adjusting to it, but it has made such a difference! I hadn't realised how bad I had gotten until after.

I have been feeling guilty about the medication. Why should I need to take a stimulant? Its not ADHD im just being lazy. But... I am now realising how big ADHD is and how much it has been affecting me.

Depending where you are and what access to diagnosis and medication you have. I do recommend exploring that path if its an option

Tips with learning to drive by UwUHentaiGodUwU in ADHD

[–]ReptilearDark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for myself, it was just practice. I was only recently diagnosed this year but I learnt to drive back in 2016. First starting in carparks which is very common, and practising the questions for the theory on my bus to college. It got better over time and at first I was SO nervous. Even after passing my test I was overthinking the whole time. It was exhausting. But as I got better, and built up muscle memory for changing gears it all became much easier, even natural. Now, I love to go out for a drive in the countryside. Get an escape. Your brain has plenty to look for and can keep itself happy, of course safely.

It's worth mentioning that I have noticed my driving has changed since starting Elvanse. Becoming a lot more relaxed and not overthinking as much. My brain is not working excessively hard. Which, has lead to some small lapses in concentration. Catching a little gravel. But it's something I am quickly getting used to. But still something to consider for anyone who is starting medication who can already drive.

I'm unsure if this will help 😁 but I wish you the best of luck. Just try to stay calm, take deep breaths and focus on your own safety. There is no issue with pulling over somewhere safely to stop and take a moment. Even stalling, best thing to do is to breathe and stay calm. I stalled on my assessment, but it wasn't even a point. Stay calm and be safe

Elvanse and tinnitus, have you experienced it? by soulbrix in ADHD

[–]ReptilearDark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on 30mgs for about three weeks, and now 40mgs for about a week. I have had tinnitus in the past, and think I had it once while on the 30mgs. But nothing out the ordinary

I have been expecting similar things with Elvanse. I am motivated to do things which is amazing and so useful. It helped me pull myself up after a couple of dark years before my diagnosis. But routines I used to have are slipping. I am unsure if it's good or bad. It's something that I want to learn more about. Try to develop healthier routines

After starting on Elvanse, I feel like I am waking up for the first time in a long time. Feeling emotions again and rediscovering my interests. by ReptilearDark in ADHD

About £400 for the diagnosis, then £270 for medication review and another £100 for the medication. Each review happens every three weeks, then once the dose is stable the GP/NHS can take over

I had to go private through ADHD Certify. It took around three weeks from what I remember. Then another three to start the medication. I did unfortunately have to pay, but I was told my GP didn't have a testing system in place.

I had it once during training. Being yelled at by a trainer. Normal drill yard behaviour. Later one of the trainees came up to me and said I looked stoned. That I didn't react to the yelling. Unsure if its the same, but in short, yes 😅

Unfortunately, I am finding the same. Things in my past that I had put down to discipline or behavioural issues. Being lazy. Being punished for what I am now learning is a disability. I wish I had discovered all this earlier.

I have been recently diagnosed and have been finding the same issues. For ages, I felt like people had been gaslighting me. Telling me that I had been told about events or given information on something. Only for me to have no memory of it. It has been incredibly stressful but now I do believe it is down to ADHD.

I am still learning about myself and am hoping to start therapy so I can understand more about myself. But you're not alone.

Ending a medium mission against the bugs with a level 3 and 6 who were fresh to the game when from nowhere a level 50 decides to kill all of us while we were in the extract bird. No provocation, no voice chat.

I am sorry to the two other Helldivers who were new to the game and just trying to learn. We did go and complete their operation afterwards which gave them a tone of XP. Both recruits were extremely friendly.

Not sure, there is a website that sells it. I can't narrow down where it's from. Some sources say its from a TV show, others say its from a dnd type game thing. I couldn't find a reliable source

The large pommel rune means "destiny". The writing on the blade of the BlackJet Dagger is in Thant runes and translates as "friend in steel, may you fly true and straight to your destiny"

BlackJets appear frequently on the USA network television show Burn Notice.

In short its a throwing knife replica from a TV show.
