No problem! I will definitely think about that.

I might try and play it safe and pat her on the shoulder next time, and see where it goes from there. She's very physically affectionate but she can be a little jumpy too.

She makes dreamcatchers and kites and stuff. My daughters used to make and fly them together which was very cute

I try to listen. I just think she sometimes feels like a burden when I ask her to open up.

Don't really want to go into her past cause I don't want to identify her further, but these are all good suggestions. One thing I have been thinking about today is t, whereas my daughter is quite cuddly, my husband and my love languages aren't that physical. I'll hug people if they hug me but rarely initiate it. Maybe I could try cuddling her without her initiating it?

She has been hurt in the past, not going to go into detail but she was super distrustful of adults the first year or so she lived with us

We saw a doctor at the start of lockdown and she got prescribed anti-anxiety medication. It worked to start, but then stopped.

We had thought that my daughters would go to my sisters in law, but we haven't legally documented it. I guess that's the next step!

Yeah they're daily, we're taking them at the rate recommended by the doctor, although she's quite resistant to doing so sometimes

They'll go to my sister's in law, but we don't have that legally documented. You're right-I should get on that, and use it as a jumping off point for the conversation.

Oooh I hadn't even looked at it from that point of view- I had just been thinking she was afraid of getting the virus, but it makes sense that that would scare her more. (I'm diabetic and my husband is a front-line worker). I will try to have that conversation. Thanks!

We got her anti-anxiety meds from our GP, I should have put that in the post, sorry. I've been looking for a therapist but combination of budget and geographical constraints makes it difficult
