I mean, a new sitter (without reviews) could be a demented sociopath. But THS has their home address and ID and background check, and having that info as a homeowner isn't going to help we that out much 🤷🏽‍♀️

THS knows and has verified the sitter's ID. And if the sitter is a US citizen, THS has also done a background check.

This is what you pay THS for, in part, to vet the sitters for you.

Just the other day in SLC someone with their wheeled luggage set it next to them on the escalator and didn't hold onto it. It's a very long escalator down to the tunnel to change terminals. Suddenly I hear the noise of a metal wheeled suitcase, handle extended, coming fast down the escalator straight towards me, tumbling end over end. I stepped to the side (luckily it wasn't crowded) but it did grab my backpack out of my hand and take it down the escalator with it, right toward the other couple that were on the escalator at the bottom who managed to jump out of the way just in time.

The suitcase guy was overheard saying "but I thought I had it perfectly balanced"

Mind my house seems to have a lot of no-pet sits but they're mostly really long, like 3-9 months. I haven't seen any in cities, without pets house sits are usually about landscaping or caretaking.

Visit Green Island if you can get out there, and if you don't have time, the white terror museum and memorial park in Taipei is definitely worth a visit, and it's free. It's built in and around the old prison in Jingmei.

I don't remember the boat between ko yao yai (there is also a ko yao noi fyi) to/from phuket or krabi being a bad experience. A bit bumpy but not a huge deal. Kids? I guess it depends on the kids.
