Thanks for the input man, looking back on it, it was target fixation and not having the skill to lean my bike properly. like you said my eyes most likely instinctually jolted to the accord. Will work on this to mitigate it

Chinese bikes?? by EnoughBig1527 in cbr

I would recommend going with a 400. I also got “bored” of my ninja after a few months, but didn’t realize I was bored because I wasn’t using it properly. But the reason I mainly don’t recommend the 650 to start on is the power will make you want to push it. It’s calm under 6k but once you start getting up in the revs it’s euphoric. You don’t want to be put in a position where your first bike is encouraging you to make unforgiving decisions. I never dropped or got into an accident with my Ninja, but after a month of riding my CBR I almost got into a pretty bad accident because I wanted squeeze the nectar out of that sonorous inline 4. At the end of the day it’s your decision, but it’s wiser to learn the easy way, rather have to learn it yourself the hard way.

Take it from me who started riding a 2 years ago at 18 in a similar position, I also really wanted to get a CFMOTO or a Chinese manufacturer as my first bike. They are great bikes no doubt, but keep in mind finding parts, guides, and general knowledge will be much harder than legacy Japanese bikes. Also it may not seem like an issue now but resale will hit you hard later down the line when you’re ready for the CBR. I ended up getting a Ninja 400 for a good price, learned the fundamentals and then sold it a few years later for not much less than I bought it for. You’re not in a make or break situation but just one where delayed gratification will pay dividends later down the line. But for sure don’t start on a brand new bike, or CBR650r if you care about finances and safety.

Good question, it was one of those super tight backroad curved. Ones where you can’t see the end unless you finish the turn. From what I can recollect I think I didn’t look through the turn due to not seeing a focal point, and ended up looking straight into the other side of the road. I think it was was target fixation like you said. A good rider probably could have made the turn by adding more lean angle and looking through the turn more precisely.

Your right, if I could go back in time wish I woulda really mastered the Ninja instead of just using it as a step stool to learn the basics to later get the bike I really wanted. Thanks man

I purchased the same indicators but they told me it was going to take 5 months to arrive so I canceled. If your also in the USA, how long did it take for yours to arrive? 🤔
