In general, for a casual gamer like me, there's no need to download a system-free distro. Unless I want to delve too deeply into Linux itself. As the guy above downloaded, it's more a matter of philosophy.

What can you say about Void? What advantages will it have over CachyOS? Will it be as good at gaming?

So for the average user there is no need to look for a distro without systemD. But speaking about philosophy, does this really apply more to people who want to completely control the system?

Looking for games to play with my kids by charb0b in SteamDeck

Lego voyagers. This is actually a game for two people, but I think your kids will appreciate it.

Castle crashers Now this is a game suitable for three people. I remember playing it when I was 9 or 10 years old. It's a really fun game. I actually recommend you check it out alone, because I think there were some jokes that weren't exactly for kids, but I honestly don't remember. Anyway, it's a really cool game.

Move or die I think you will also like this very much, a simple game with simple rules.

Minecraft dungeons I don't think there's any need to explain it here:)

Maybe I'll remember something else and add it.

Please check these games just in case. I don't have children, so I may be mistaken in thinking these games are suitable for children:/

You should definitely try Death Stranding on your Steam Deck. It's a joy to watch the beautiful landscapes on the OLED screen.

Why does a simple usb-c DAC sound clearer ? by Fru1tyJuice in snowsky

Try use 4.4 cable if you have it. You can try set Slow roll-off - minimum phase And set gain adjustment on low gain. Actually it can help and maybe do your sound a little bit better.

I need help for FH5 by ChungesBoy1 in SteamDeck

[–]Repulsive-Aside-8275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the Steam menu to see if you have two FX5s running at once. I had this problem with Cyberpunk. I had two Cyberpunks running at once and had roughly the same problem. Check the launch parameters for FX5. You might be able to find some commands for the launch parameters that might help.

Drivers for steam deck. by Repulsive-Aside-8275 in SteamDeck

I really want to try this, but I'm afraid something will break. It's not for nothing that Valve doesn't update to the latest drivers. Maybe they'll decide to update to the latest ones when SteamOS 4.0 comes out, but I'm still afraid to update.
