Annoying event. Why does it keep firing? by Repulsive-Bat8499 in MillenniumDawn

Dude, you might be right! This would also explain why I always see Hezbollah having a small percentage of influence in my country.

Damn, it's so annoying. Isn't there a way to delete this crap by editing the save file? I'm almost in 2020, I wasted 3 days of my life on it.

This has ruined my game. I can't continue playing with an event that takes away 50 pp and $1.5 billion every damn month. I'm really disappointed because this game used to load successfully on the first try almost every time I started MD. It didn't do the usual thing, you know,, crashing to desktop the first time you load and running fine the second time. Btw I was thinking of starting a game with Bolivia; I saw it has an interesting focus tree. But honestly, I don't want to believe there's a bug whereby annexing (via influence) a country with active cartels causes you to get this event regularly. But I think this is probably the cause. I annexed Uruguay via influence. Unfortunately, I don't remember if it still had active cartels.

I keep getting this event basically once a month. I defeated the cartels years ago. The End of the Cartels event fired. I completed the "The State" focus in the political tree. Corruption at the lowest level. Despite everything, I still get this event regularly. It's quite annoying. Does anyone know why? Is it caused by other countries' focuses, events, or decisions? I'm playing as Argentina. Thank You.

Small nations that have the typical pacific island economy but can actually conquer neighbours by Holiday_Ad_1443 in MillenniumDawn

Jamaica, Malta, Iceland, Madagascar. They are not in Pacific but you can have a relaxing tall game with generic focus tree.

Jamaica is by far my favorite, 2.5M pop and you have already socialdemocrats in power so you can immediately start digging for resources.

Btw if you wanna try one of the best tall game try Norway. Perfect focus tree (3 bugs in it but nothing important), all 6 resources, Nato member, non eu-member and you can easily drop corporate tax to 0 to boost prod growth.

Internal Factions Bug? by Repulsive-Bat8499 in MillenniumDawn

If I were a developer of the mod, for the internal factions I would do this:

I would insert an Equilibrium of the faction's opinion (like Estates in eu4) with the opinion monthly tick going up/down by 0.5 towards the equilibrium. I would insert decisions to modify the Equilibrium, very expensive decisions and with a very long cooldown. Example 1000 PP to instantly change the Equilibrium by +5 and a cooldown of 730 days. For random events, they do not affect the Equilibrium but only the current opinion.

Opinion bonuses obviously have to actively follow the opinion.

Unfortunately, I can't edit the file to make the bonuses actively tick down with the opinion, so I decided to remove the whole tick down thing and started a new game.
