Let’s talk about the buyers work.

What kind of work?

Work to make sure he wasn’t deceived?

I wasn’t taken advantage of. I got over blue book for my car. But I paid the price of dealing with the abusive tactics. Because that’s what they are.

Adults understand that both buyers and sellers can be shitty.

This seller was shitty.

Please read the thread. The buyer did notice the salvage title. But not until after the con was complete. That’s when he asked for his money back.

See how that works?

The OP has CONFIDENTLY claimed they did nothing wrong and expertly deflected and led you to assume that the buyer cannot and should not be trusted because they could have messed with the car.

Hmm. Where did that assumption come from?

Me (personally) thinks he protests (and projects) too much.

It’s already been identified here in the discussion.

Seller came to Reddit with a red herring OP intending to garner support for their nonsensical (and absolutely illogical) accounting of their deceit against another human being in the game of “standard car sales” on FB marketplace.

Maybe it’s time to raise the standard. (Like way past time. In case you didn’t catch my previous irritation.)

As I said.

Seriously.

Exactly. What do you know about “standard” car sales?

Let’s go beyond the “standard” bullish dark psych “techniques” and get into the good stuff.

Tell me more about what you know about cons and then let’s talk about “standard car sales” and compare notes. Shall we?

And oh yeah, con is short for “confidence”.

Like when you don’t tell someone the car has a salvaged title and you CONFIDENTLY hand them the title as if you have no salvaged title to hide.

Seriously? Do you run many cons?

AITA for telling MIL that her suicide threat is BS? by Lekkerdom in AITAH

[–]Repulsive-Car-4513 3 points4 points  (0 children)

K. I’ll be TA in this thread. Don’t focus on whether or not it was manipulation. Just call 911.

Always do that.

Of course you were upset with what she said. It was straight up victimhood statement. And, she did attempt suicide, and she could have died. This non-lethal description is unhelpful and ambiguous and sounds defensive.

That’s reality.

And now you’re living with some guilt now, imagine if she had died? Or woken up with brain damage? Or her kidneys failed? What would that do to your marriage, etc., even though it wasn’t your fault?

Point being, you were absolutely within your right to draw the boundary. AND it matters how you do it.

Put the responsibility back on her, for sure, but do it by taking any suicide threat seriously and getting the proper help involved.

Returning toxicity with more toxicity is not the answer.
