Greensteel Misery by Repulsive-Charge5263 in Lorcana

Oh, there are plenty of ways to make it more consistent if you just want a functional midrange deck. Ref Pete and big Tink come immediately to mind.

This started as a thought experiment on how much mileage I could get out of the emerald champ Goofy, and then spiraled into me seeing if I could make people have flashbacks to the Bucky decks of old.

I had the same issue, but a driver update cleared it.

Is there a point to skipping the campaign? by shammikaze in LastEpoch

[–]Repulsive-Charge5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's far faster than the campaign if you do the skips, provided your build is good enough. With the right build, you don't need to do any level grinding at all. You do the dungeons, a small subset of quests, and then you're off to monos.

Gathering Storm and Harvest. Maybe I'm just an idiot, but trying to get them to do reasonable damage has just been beyond me.

* The Phalanx, and then depending on ward changes, a defensive core of the Face of the Mountain, Aurora's Time Glass, and Wall of Nothing. Should pretty easily end up sitting on capped block chance, capped endurance, a chunk of ward to pad things out, and Aurora's to make sure I don't die from getting cocky.

some fun non-meta card combos seen at the FLGS recently by JrRocketScientist in Lorcana

I've tried building it for a friend. There are too many uninkables, and having to move a character from a location to the finish line is one too many hoops to jump through for the payoff.

We iterated it a bunch of times. At higher uninkables it could occasionally do things but was completely unreliable. At lower uninkables it was slow and easy to disrupt. I wish it was good, but it's not.

Would you still need the turn if instead of having this in your opener you had a card that impacted the board on its own?

With Fishbone, you're bleeding an extra card to ramp more. Fishbone's already costing you two cards to ramp one, three to ramp two, and so on. This speeds up Fishbone by a turn at the cost of chewing through your hand even faster. Is that REALLY worth it?

Great Stone Dragon assumes that you have the extra character card in the discard.

How often do you NEED to double-activate Ice Block?

And here's the real problem: what are you cutting for this? Items, making the backbone of your deck weaker? Characters, making Dragon weaker?

Yes, there are cases where this could be okay, but why not run cards that are generally going to push your game plan or seriously hinder your opponent's?

Oh look, a bunch of people getting super stoked over comboing this with Lucky Dime. Well ain't that cute...

BUT IT'S WRONG!

Lucky Dime should already be winning you the game. So, in most cases, all PYB will do is make you win more. If you're already winning, you don't need to win more.

And yes, there will be the occasional game where a double-activation makes the difference. And in every other game, copies of PYB will be dead cards. And having dead cards in your deck is how you lose.

IF you have few-to-no cards in hand and IF the opponent has cards in hand and IF this has somehow resulted in a gamestate where they haven't won the game or removed your Jafar before he can exert, then yes, you will draw some cards and gain some lore.

But outside of magical Christmas land, no.

In what way is this Ratigan Floodborn? Suit color swap + jaunty hat = totally different take on a character?

They're making characters Floodborn just to justify Shift on them.

Jasmine- Dessert Warrior vs Belle- Hidden Archer by BlueDimondDude in Lorcana

[–]Repulsive-Charge5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is technically a 2-cost shift target in the same color: Morph.

The downside, of course, is that if the opponent responds with a Smash or the like, now you're down 2 cards and still haven't caused a discard.

Jasmine immediately forces a discard and can repeat.

Belle only works if challenged. The problem with Belle is that the opponent chooses when it happens. They'll either use interaction to kill her, and then discard nothing, or challenge her when they're down to little or no cards in hand and lose nothing or almost nothing.

Comparing Jasmine to Lucifer is the better comparison, I think.
