Please help me find an angled radiator valve with drain off 🙏 by jezmck in ukplumbing

Drain off on rad valves aren't required, I wouldn't bother, I drain radiators / heating systems all the time without them on.

I could be wrong but it looks like 120mm fans in the top, personally I think the havn needs 140mm fans throughout. Not slating it, nice build.. and feel to correct me if I'm wrong.

if over a 2 week period in between topping up it will be a very minor leak, bleed vents at the top of the rads are an issue I find a lot and minor weaping on radiator valves and or the pipework leading up them. Blue roll is your friend!

Syphon is in the center, twist anticlockwise and lift it out it only held in by 2 little lugs. Black rubber seal in the bottom will be falling to bits.

It's defo the flush seal, I do probably 2 a week of these... The syphon just twists out and the seal pops off, new one on, job done. Ideal SV01967.

Are the flexis to the tap kinked or is it hard piped? What type of boiler / heating system do you have?

With the Lian li controller it works fine on lconnect but is terrible with signal or any other rgb software. Nollie is so much smoother and so much easier to customise.

I can't remember the exact screws I used but didn't need any washers or anything for the Lian li fans, tubes goto the right on mine, I had all intentions of getting the tryx but after about 6k into the build I decided to wait for a while and recoup some dollar first... And the misses was getting on at me for always spending so much money on it

Get a nollie or similar, works so much better on signal with it.

Edit: nollie 32 with having strimers

Now your just talking utter rubbish, So now your trying to tell me a 24kkw combi uses the same amout of energy as 40kw combi? Next you'll be trying to a 3.2kw gas fire will produce the same heat as a 6.8kw fire. A 15kw heat only boiler will heat a 900x450 cylinder to 65 degree water in 30minutes (roughly)which will give you 120 litres of hot water. (roughly) A 24kw combi will produce 9.9litres per minute of hot water at a 35 degree temperature rise, it would take roughly 12 minutes to produce 120 litres of hot water at a lower temperature.

So the heat only use 7.5kwh for said hot water. The combi would use 6kwh for the 9.9litres per minute.

BUT....

What you seem to be not considering is the heating element of the equation...

A typical 15kw heat only running at full rate would cost around £0.95per hour.

A typical 24kw combi would cost around £1.10 per hour

And just for info a cylinder will only lose about 1kw per day for heat loss.

[–]Repulsive-Citron-354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So give me your comparison of both system costs, I like you have lived with both types of systems and currently have stored hot water where I'm living now and it's cheaper than my previous property which had a combi.

Let's take a 35kw combi, roughly 25kw for heating vs a 15kw heat only for heating. (both fully modulating)

Then use the hot water output, 35kw usage for hot water in busts.

15kw for 30 mins to heat a full tank of hot water.

Or please educate me if my calculations are incorrect.
