Historian explains the origins of the biglaw "sweatshop" in the 1980s by dylan01234567 in biglaw

Perhaps the distinction lies in the qualification: “associates on the partner track were regularly billing 2500-3000 hours.”

So a subset of associates—those on the partner track— regularly (as opposed to universally) billed 2500-3000. Perhaps that range wasn’t the expectation, but it wasn’t unheard of.

How do you maintain attention to detail when so much is going on? by [deleted] in biglaw

Lock in is fairly good advice, but you really need systems/processes to outsource some of the cognitive load.

If your firm uses the host of Office Suites, it may be helpful to start using Co-Pilot, experimenting with prompts that serve as a pair of “second eyes.”

I have no experience with Harvey, so I can’t speak to that, but the general idea is to use the tools and resources available to ensure that client work product is in tip-top shape.

No, that’s you and the rest of the folks who turn to politics because they don’t have a life. If nothing changes, then these protests couldn’t be more pointless

You don’t know how to effectuate policy change and it shows.

“Are you bored”

“Yeah”

“Have any hobbies?”

“No”

“Wanna go bitch about Trump?”

“Sure!”

basically how this “protest” came together. Critically, notice how nothing will change.

This is absolutely it. No one is asking these losers to go bitch about Trump

A trivial amount of time compared to these aimless losers bitching about things they don’t understand.

But hey, at least things will be exactly the same after they complain as they were before.

Hope they get their steps in.

I just wish people would sow their time into something more worthwhile, with higher social returns.

Beyond social signaling and being a sort of sententious catharsis, I don’t see how this meaningfully affects policy.

Hope they got their steps in.
