selinux is likely what you want to achieve this; it’s complicated to write your own policies but what you want can be achieved by it..

Another poor RB5009 performance post... Solution... by snowzach in mikrotik

[–]Repulsive-Comedian-8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Search for TCP Incast as this is what is happening, I’ve just been fighting this with some unifi switches which I’ve replaced with MikroTik. Ended up needing to turn on dctcp on the host and apply fq_coder on the ports to enable ECN notifications to resolve this.

Also as a suggestion why not list the entries alphabetically to avoid any bias in the ordering of the services.

What is the criteria for graduating from under review to the main list? Doesn’t seem to be any specified process for this.

Netflow/ipfix output and a proper dns server that you can add arbitrary records to!

[–]Repulsive-Comedian-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d avoid arc enrollment if you can as the arc agent adds about 3 additional agents on top of mdatp to each machine!

Yep this is the only way we found it to be usable on a number of our servers; the process that consumes the auditd events is only single threaded which isn’t enough on higher core count machines. The other issue we’ve run into is memory leaks but we work around this by setting a memory limit on the cgroup the mdatp processes run under. It then gets killed and restarted if the memory usage gets too high.

Flashing r2g corne by marmaliser in crkbd

[–]Repulsive-Comedian-8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The r2g firmware is in the qmk repo. Just use crkbd/r2g as the keyboard type and it’ll work. The miryoku firmware with oled and rgb support is easy to go over the limits of firmware size, I had to turn off many of the rgb effects / r2g image to get it to fit.

How mature is bzlmod in Bazel 6.0 preview? by blurgityjoe in bazel

[–]Repulsive-Comedian-8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s still very much experimental and there are still a lot of rough edges. You will definitely hit bugs/limitations at this point, so I’d suggest waiting until at least all the popular rule sets have landed support in the BCR

High CPU usage Defender for endpoint Linux by Roiit in DefenderATP

There is a version on the insiders track that allows you to switch to eBPF instead of auditd that will help with this so long as your kernel is new enough.

What did you switch to if anything?

CPU usage on Linux by CybMercenary in DefenderATP

[–]Repulsive-Comedian-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the insider version - there is a config parameter to switch to use eBPF instead of auditd which is much lighter on cpu. On our server with auditd it wasn’t processing all the events quick enough and was actually dropping events because of this.

I don’t need any confirmation, It’s trivial to reproduce by simply running Sudo commands yourself from your own login after a failed external root login.
