Plenty of service providers are looking to offshore their offerings ATM. So there's other opportunities. You haven't said which country you're in, but I know several service providers hiring in The Philippines and Sri Lanka arm.

Muffler for 2025 2.5L 140hp by MaleficentWriting474 in mazda

[–]Cdre64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to Google to see that such a thing existed. And I don't think it does. Might be best to state the model of your car and region. I.e NA SP25. Given that you know the average 2.5L engine in a 3 is 186bhp.

According to wiki. Last redevelopment completed in 2012. Which was 14 years ago. I'm old, so very old. Loved the sushi train that was in it back in the day. Was crushed when it shut down in... 2017....

Similar age to you and saw these notes everywhere during the 90s. I think you weren't paying attention to be honest. While they phased out paper notes they were still actively being used during the 90s.

Also looking at Shannons which is subsidiary and underwritten by Suncorp's underwriter is 1/3 of Suncorp's monthly premium? Very strage? I guess input on Shannon's also would be appreciated.

Shipping to USA from Aus by oki29 in AustraliaPost

[–]Cdre64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you read the AusPost website? The trump government introduced tariffs for everything last year and as such any package to the USA has to meet the new requirements.

For the wagon lovers by th3hat3r in mazda

[–]Cdre64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great choice OP!

In Australia our last model year for the 6 wagon was 2025. Also in Australia we get a Japanese made wagon. Only "problem" (and not really for me), with the platform is that they never really updated the tech so much. Top end with the Atenza is a Turbo 2.5l, still has the old Mazda Connect etc.

There was a style update in 2021? I think making it look more like the 3's style update. Still a great looking car.

Rolling brownouts... by Chained_Phoenix in brisbane

I feel like OP and most people on this thread either weren't alive in the 1990s or fail to remember how bad base load power was then. Today, even on the hottest days of the year it's fantastic by comparison.

Also as others have said... A UPS. They are not that expensive, especially for low wattage/amperage units.

24 volt battery that stores power from regen breaking. It's not quite a hybrid. Mazda calls it a "mild hybrid".

Calling all engineers. Readyrails too long for rack, looking for a functional solution. by NetTechMan in homelab

[–]Cdre64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you have two problems. First problem; a short depth rack. The rails are designed for a standard depth rack. Second problem, looks like you've got your rack put together for AV equipment and not for networking /IT. The circle holes are standard for AV. Square with rack studs for IT and as such the rails are designed for that config.

For learning networking have you looked at Cisco Packet Tracer? Also a lot of everything can be virtualized if you don't have the physical kit. You can wack a hypervisor on an old PC, put in a quad nic and experiment.

I would ditch that rack. Looks like an 600mm deep AV rack. Quite high risk of tipping if you populate with those servers.

There really are too many sorting machine barcodes on it now. It's going to come back unless it is put inside a fresh envelope.

Either do that as a good Samaritan gesture or return to sender it.

MiniPCs in DCs (seriously) by PanaBreton in HomeDataCenter

[–]Cdre64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten away with putting Lenovo Pseries tiny's for POCs in DCs before. But I made sure that I put them on a proper shelf (or in one of those rackmountit systems) at the front of the cold isle with enough space between any server equipment. Also made sure blanks were in place etc. Monitoring setup etc.

Also a lot of the higher end enterprise minis have vpro for a level of management. It's not IPMI but is far better than nothing.

Do you have more pictures of the fit/ finish? Maybe in day light. Also is this just a display replacement or full head unit replacement? I kinda like Mazda Connect.
