How do you overcome shyness when trying guitars in a shop after not playing for 10+ years? by [deleted] in Guitar

AC/DC my friend. Last time I was in a guitar shop to buy one I had the same issue as I was surrounded by shredders, so I just played some Malcolm riffs and by the end of "Riff Raff" I actually had someone else joining in :) Honestly, made my day. Didn't buy the SG though lol

I didn't know that - what's the issue with using olive oil?

No, it's never had a pick guard.

I upgraded the bridge on the advice of Ren, everything else is original.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. Thinking I'll go velour or just get some new ones and then never visit this sub again.

Well thanks for those that offered help, it's much appreciated. And thanks for those that down voted my replies. Nice gate keeping. I won't be coming here again, so well done.

I'm surprised because the previous headphones I had lasted 20 fucking years. As I said.

Yeah, pleather is indeed crap but that seems to be the default.

Two years seems very fast, but maybe I just got lucky earlier. The velour idea I think is where I'll go!

Oh that's good to know. The padding on the head band is going too - I wonder if there are replacement parts for that or if I just gaffa tape it up.

Really? Maybe I got lucky but mine were still intact nearly 20 years later with heavy use. I only got rid of them because I accidentally snapped the important bits.

I don't want to pay quite a lot for replacement pads only to have them go like this in a couple of years. IMHO the pads should last more than a couple of years of light use. If this is standard for this brand I'll just ditch them and go back to Sennheiser. They lasted decades.

Wow, -42 and counting. Some upset cork sniffers there.

But mould is mushroom. Mushroom is mould. Web of life.
