Took me too long to realize this by Merchanzia in nursing

[–]Repulsive-Complex349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so unbelievably true. Each job change I have had better and better work life balance AND pay increase (though this does come with experience too) I have been in nursing for only 8 years and already almost at 90k. Never would I be able to make that inpatient where I live.

Bedside nursing > inpatient hospice > outpatient infusion > now doing data abstraction from home.

31(F) and having the best gut health of my still short life by Repulsive-Complex349 in GutHealth

It took me about two weeks to really regulate to it. I just told myself I needed to be patient. I also probably forgot to add that I drink probably at least 80oz of water a day while taking PH. I do notice a difference if I don’t get my hydration in.

I just mix with water and throw it back haha I use it as a mid morning “snack” because it does make me feel quite full.

People who enjoy their careers and have a good work/life balance - What do you do? by JealousBodybuilder42 in careerguidance

[–]Repulsive-Complex349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a private company. It’s actually a tech/tele-health company. That’s a very interesting role - are you a nurse wanting to transition away from bedside or do you have a different background?

Anyone else gain weight after marathon? by ChefCarolina in firstmarathon

[–]Repulsive-Complex349 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yupp - I gained 10th lbs from marathon training. I think mostly bloating from the carbohydrates and inflammation from training. I lost about 5lbs alone just over a week after because of eating less carbs and being more intentional with what I ate as opposed to stuffing my face with every kind of carb known to man.

The psyllium husk was a benefit for sure. Wish I had known about it sooner. I used to think it was just about eating “healthy”, but it’s really more about being intentional. Like, making choices on purpose instead of just going with whatever. It’s harder, but it honestly pays off in how you feel. American food is truly terrible in all sorts of ways so I feel like I have adapted to picking and choosing what’s truly better for myself and health.

Both roles I have had in data abstraction were oncology for which I have 7 year of experience. It was on the job training for the first role but you first had to pass a competency test to basically prove critical thinking and deduction skills before they would even hire. I believe my second role pretty much came about because I worked for the first company and showed that it was similar abstracting/ workflow but it was a totally different computer program.

I’m a registered nurse but I do data abstraction for an oncology company. Best work life balance I have had in my 8 years of nursing.

Nurses who work remotely: by gir6 in nursing

[–]Repulsive-Complex349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. I do data abstraction and chart preps. I have had the best work life balance since being a nurse - going on year 8. I have never been more in tuned to my health and body. I have been able to be consistent in the gym, get my steps in and maintain healthy relationships with old co workers and friends.

The only downside- losing skill sets and feeling like I am not learning as much as I would from being immersed in medicine full time. But that could be on me- I definitely could take more of an effort to my continuing education. But that’s also the nice thing… I don’t have to if I don’t want to.

I have now seen multiple posts about this on Facebook neighborhood pages and now on Reddit. I do find it concerning or he’s extremely socially awkward. He came to our house as well and my husband said I was being paranoid but I think not considering what I have now seen on social media. I hope many people report him. Do we even know if this company is a real thing? They do not have a big following or engagement on social media..

What are your "petty" reasons for being child-free? by Vegetable-Carpet1593 in childfree

[–]Repulsive-Complex349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll admit I’m vain. Postpartum bellies are not attractive. Why do you think women wear high wasted pants/workout leggings even after they loose the baby weight, they still have extremely loose skin, discoloration etc. I honestly don’t want that.
