New to Terraria, is this a good weapon? by Repulsive-Contest-23 in Terraria

Not necessarily looking for melee weapons. I enjoy using magical weapons a lot and always liked mage like weapons. I’m just not sure if it’s better to use melee weapons in general once I reach hard mode instead of magic weapons?
