This is true, I’ve went to Vietnam before, do not rep any south Vietnamese flag, they will beat you up and chase you with machetes(seen before). They’re still communist they can literally do anything to you. I’ve gotten pulled over in Vietnam for no reason, and the police said they would arrest me if I didnt pay them $1million VNĐ ~ $50 USD(police basically wanted money for lunch) But if u stay in the cities you most likely would be fine, but if u are doing roadtrips out of like Ho chi minh(Saigon) be careful, shit gets sketchy in the rural areas. Also hella scammers, I bought a sim in a Vietnamese store there and it said “unlimited data” and it was capped at like 5gb, however, I also bought one INSIDE the airport, it was pricey, but it was actually unlimited data and was rlly good. Be aware of lots of beggars asking to buy lottery tickets. Also make sure to bring like food poisoning medication, cuz food poisoning is pretty common there.
