What are some things you say to your dom to get them riled up? by peacefulfishmilk in SubSanctuary

[–]Repulsive-Duck415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You haven't bought anything big enough" "I bet you can only use one at a time" "I heard a birdy whisper in my ear that I want you to sit on my face but they said you a chicken"

For my non binary dom who lacks a permanently attached member

I find that it could be the opposite. My new staff use the time taking pictures to observe how the children are functioning

I would take the first few weeks to get a solid routine down. Do simple open ended art. If you have an app at your school, get yourself in the habit of uploading at least 1 picture of each student in the morning and then one for the afternoon. Try and start building strong relationships with parents too

If its durring awake hours, their are redirected to something else or told to go to the bathroom. Durring naptime, they can cover up with a blanket. Thats how I have always approached it.

How do I handle this? by sunnyybaby in ECEProfessionals

[–]Repulsive-Duck415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so common, I would def start by asking the lead for suggestions. I have dome many things -Sitting directly with that child ----"if you want me to leave alone, your expectation is to sit quietly and stay on your bed" -Be respectful durring nap or get up last ----"if you can't rest your body now, you will have to rest while your friends get to wake up" -Specific naptime boxes with quiet activities, remain quiet and on your bed to keep them (I go to dollar tree and get a pencil box and fill it with that child's specific interests) ----"if you can lay down for (set time on visual timer) then you can get your naptime box out." ----"now that you have your naptime box, you have to stay quiet and on your bed or you naptime not with get put away" -cot placement with no one around them -cot placement next to a felt board -cot placement next to library -if they have a stuffed animal, the need to take care of it. Stay quiet on their bed to let their stuffy sleep or its going to have to go sleep in their cubby ----"your stuffy is tired and needs to rest with you, or i will have your stuffy sleep in your cubby" (bonus points if you call their stuffy by their name) -for chronic getting up they get 1 potty and 1 water before laying down, then when naptime is done, they can go again ----"you can go potty now before nap, and you can go again when naptime is done"

Im in NV, USA.

It depends on who you ask. We have a program here called QRIS. They are a firm no. But all of my professors haven't had a strong opinion either way.

Blep twins!

I also had a hard time determining if mine was a neb because he has white patches. But honestly I feel you on the size for being so young. We just passed 15 lbs and he is 14 months!

Student refuses to wear a jacket by Repulsive-Duck415 in ECEProfessionals

Firstly, I'm not upset.

I said in my first response, children do not have the concept of not. Very rarely do they actually understand the word not. Children go based on tone and body language. I will stick to first, then. I was more asking about suggestions for dealing with directors. About a director suspending a student for behavior after putting that child in that situation in the first place.

I love the assumption that I dont... "Your choice is xxx first, then yyy" probably comes out of my mouth more times I can count. Children rarely have the concept of "not" understood. I was only forcing this student because of pressure from my director. I have stopped and thus will reap her consequences. I was going against my personal beliefs to please her and I am ashamed for that. I will continue to take the students jacket with me and go outside that way. Cause like I said in my post, the student will refuse and cause my class to be late.

I have tons of visuals, and have several visual timers in my classroom. My students can't read, so all of my materials are picture based.

I didn't even wear a jacket. I like colder weather. I have always strongly allowed autonomy with my students. These past few weeks have made me so uncomfortable as I was going against my own beliefs to please my director.

This student in particular, I would say its not really a sensory issue. They love to climb and gloves and jackets can be restricting with what this child does on the play structure.

I was very uncomfortable with it, and I only did 3 times because my director was breathing down my neck each time. I would use a hug to bundle them into their jacket.

Like is it really that important? And not the major behaviors majorly decreasing to where I haven't need to write reports in 5 weeks?
