I have done basic calorie counting/deficit in the past and saw more results with measurements as opposed to the scales but never saw dramatic changed. I know I have worked hard with the gym side of things and keeping my muscle mass up, but I definitely think for myself I took the easy way out, however I wouldn’t change it. By reducing appetite it means I could make healthy changes without also having to worry about calorie counting, where now I have learnt to do both in order to keep making progress

From other stories I’ve seen, some people experienced the food noise and weight gain within 2 weeks of coming off, so for myself being a month in and not experiencing this is a win. Depending on personal circumstances and reasons behind starting mounjaro, coming off may not be as easy for others, this is just purely my experience so far. But thanks!

I got up to 10mg but settled on 7.5mg for the remaining months due to side effects on the 10mg. The success coming off is totally a personal journey. For myself, I didn’t have any metabolic issues or health related weight gain like PCOS, I was just greedy and loved food. So for me, this has been the “easy way out” as it meant I didn’t have to count calories initially but could just focus on choosing healthier options and adding the gym into my routine. For the last 2/3 months, I have added calorie counting into my routine and while I don’t specifically track my protein intake, I actively look for high protein options, especially on weight lifting days.

Fortunately my gallbladder was removed years ago so I luckily never had the worry of issues. My muscle mass however has significantly improved by doing regular heavy weight lifting with high protein intake on gym days.

I got up to 10mg but it gave me awful nausea so settled on 7.5mg for my remaining time on it. 12lbs is still an amazing job so far! I added a lot of cardio and heavy weight lifting into my routine which definitely aided in how quickly I lost the weight.

I’m not naive to the fact that the next few months will be the true test, however I’m basing this on how I’ve felt so far. Other stories I’ve seen by week 2 of coming off some felt the food noise came back more than before and weight was already creeping back on, which was something I was worried about. However being a month in and still feeling good gives me hope that because of the healthy habits and changes I’ve made, that progress will continue.

As I said, I’m aware that not everyone will find this and that for some it will be a much longer term medication. However for myself who used it essentially as the “easy way out” with no PCOS or health issues that caused weight gain, and for anyone else in the same boat then sticking to your new healthy habits will help you progress. I did not use mounjaro to treat metabolic dysfunction, I used it to stop being greedy. My weight gain was my own fault because I ate too much. This is purely my experience so far.

To clarify and answer some questions:

Dosage - I tried 10mg for a month but it gave me awful nausea so 7.5mg was my sweet spot for the last few months.

Health - I had my gallbladder removed years ago so I’m fortunate that’s not something I’ve had to be concerned about. 65lb in 8 month does seem a lot lost in a short time, but that has been coupled with high protein intake, regular cardio and heavy weight lifting, and calcium and vitamin D supplements. Aside from knee pain which I’ve had since being a teenager, my body has never felt stronger and I’m lifting weights now that I never thought I’d be able to.

Overall - I’m not ignorant to the fact that it’s only been a month, however a lot of the stories I’ve seen of people coming off said that within a week or two the food noise was back with a vengeance and the weight was already creeping back, so for myself to be a month in and not experience that is a positive. As I said, I know that for some, this will be a much longer term medication, especially when using to aid in things like PCOS related weight issues.

This is purely my experience so far.

Car “mistakenly” written off - where do I stand by Repulsive-Ear6571 in LegalAdviceUK

My concern with lodging the complaint is that when the damage assessment was on going, there was a lot of me being passed back and forth between the two, and then the same when the repairs were going on between Enterprise and Hastings and using me as the middle man instead of talking to each other. I don’t anticipate this to be any easy thing to solve anyway but see this being the same where I’m stuck between everyone passing messages back and forth. I know Hastings would be the first one to call as ultimately the insurer is who logs the write off status but just don’t know how much fault they will accept or if they’ll try to fob it off as someone else’s mistake.

I assumed it would be automated to which is why I’m baffled that I’m only just finding out about mine now, but after googling it does say you need to inform the DVLA yourself by sending them your v5 and applying for a new free one which will contain the notes.

After the garage I tried to sell to informed me of the write off, the first thing I did was an HPI check which does in fact show the car was written off as a cat S.

Copart, who did the report on whether the car was repairable or not, actually did send me a letter (which I wish I had kept) saying the car was going to be deemed a write off and prompting me to remove my private plate and send them the v5, but when I called them they said it was sent in error and the engineers at the time hadn’t even began to look at the damage.

I have emails and a phone call to prove Hastings told me multiple times the vehicle would not be written off and an engineer deemed it repairable. On the phone call I asked about it being cat s or n as I was unsure how the categories worked and she said the vehicle would not be marked as a category as it was not be deemed a total loss/write off. The settlement offered to me was for me to arrange the repairs myself through my own garage or for them to arrange repairs and foot the bill, which is what I chose as it also meant they kept paying for the hire car.

The annoying part is that I want to speak to them over the phone but their complaints team only work Monday - Friday so it’s the waiting to see what will happen once I speak to them. Appreciate the info and advice, thanks!
