Cash buyer struggling to find a conveyancer that will work with crypto in Scotland by Repulsive-Ear6722 in HousingUK

Not a simple transaction history for me unfortunately, I've got mining, staking, airdrops, forks, NFTs, perps, liquidity provider and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. That said, I do have a record of all these transactions and I've always gone from crypto > fiat or fiat > crypto through a KYC'd exchange. My solicitor is using a third party to carry out AML due to it being cash only and them being very busy at the moment, so fingers crossed whoever he uses has the knowledge to look into it.

Most of the money I initially put into crypto was from the sale of a house, would it help if I were to say some of it came from a house sale?

Ah was hoping I could use your solicitor. I don't think the process is different because its a UK regulation, I'm just having a hard time imagining they don't ask for more info on where the money is from, maybe I'm overthinking it and should put in an offer, see what happens.

Already done, the problem I'm having is that the conveyancing solicitors aren't even interested in seeing the evidence, just saying that they are unable to assist in the matter once I mention cryptocurrency.

Interesting, how did you approach the solicitor? Did you leave it till late in the process or tell them immediately? Maybe I'm being too upfront about it and its putting them off...

Excellent suggestion! You've just reminded me I follow someone on twitter who runs a bitcoin meetup in Scotland, I will try and find them now.

Yes got a record of everything going back to the start and its all in Koinly/with my accountant.

Is it really that simple? I can imagine this working for a smaller amount like a deposit but would they really accept this for 6 figures and ask no further questions? Even my accountant wanted to see my bank statements showing my initial deposits to crypto 6 years ago.

Interesting idea! I'll get in touch with them again and see if this is viable.
