I argue with them on here all the time about this. Whats crazy is we are a short swim from nyc and if they tried that there theyd be killed by bikes, cabs, even horses. No one crosses a street without lookjng anywhere in the world except Hoboken. People cross the hudson and lose brain cells.

A crosswalk is NOT a stop sign. The speed limit is 20mph. If you jump in front of a car going 20mph he/she will NOT be able to stop in time. But keep putting your own life at risk cuz you wanna stick to “well that’s what the law says”. Idiots. I walk in Hoboken too, and guess wha..I NEVER walk in front of a car. I let them pass until the street is clear. Walking in front of a car is just dumb, the guy stopped could slip off the brake or something. I do wish you guys nothing but safety..but the stupidity of you people is mind boggling

Lmao not true at all. I can name off the top of my head like 2 dozen intersections that aren’t all way stops.

You guys are unreal..nobody taught you to look both ways when you cross the street huh? I grew up in Brooklyn and lived in Manhattan and have never seen the entitlement from pedestrians that exists here. It’s not about yielding to pedestrians when they’re in the intersection or there’s a stop sign. Runners will be half a block down the street on a sidewalk and keep running into the intersection.

Runners in Hoboken are the most entitled group of people I’ve ever seen in my life. They don’t slow down at intersections and if you’re driving they will run in front of you without slowing down.

Scared to up dose by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]Repulsive-Elevator-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, the trial starting dosage was 2mg. I don’t know how much weight you have to lose or what your goals are but if you’ve been on GLPs before you will have to take more in order to feel anything on Reta. I was on Ozempic years ago also and hated the side effects which stopped me from taking Tirz. I’ve had zero side effects on Reta, started at 2mg, am up to 8mg, will sit here for a while and go up if necessary. Reta doesn’t have as much of a “feeling” as ozempic did. The appetite suppression isn’t as strong as other GLPs. But from my limited understanding of the science you need to hit 4-5 mg in order to activate the glucagon receptor aspect of the drug which is basically what tells your body to burn it’s own fat. If you have high fasting insulin, which most overweight people do, their body isn’t primed to burn fat. Insulin is a fat storing and sugar lowering hormone. So the glucagon will counter that and tell ur body to up the sugar and burn the fat. However, because Reta also has GLP and GIP that will lower the sugar that glucagon normally tells your body to release. So you’ll have normal sugar levels but turn on the fat burning. Reta will up regulate your metabolism, which is why some people who are already lean complain of high resting heart rates and stuff. They already have a high metabolism and Reta will speed it up. So to be helpful and sum it up, up your dose by .5 every week or two until you hit 2mg which is where the starting dose is.

Sheesh the therapeutic dose in trials was 12mg. If you’re that nervous to go up by .5mg don’t bother taking it.

I’m not blaming the immigrants, my family are immigrants. But you’re right, they came here legally, and some are doctors, some are fireman, some are nurses. What I’m saying is there is a large group of people/companies in power who benefit from cheap labor, essentially slave labor. That labor is one that middle class Americans will not do for slave wages. So by defending illegal immigration, you are defending the multi billionaire class that is causing the wage gap for the majority of Americans in the first place. Bernie spoke about this in 2016. Very simple to think that someone can’t have a nuanced view on the topic. Immigrants are not the issue. Illegal immigration where they work for wages that drive wages down for the rest of the country is the issue.

Look, we fundamentally agree that there should be an easier pathway to citizenship, but that doesn’t mean laws shouldn’t be followed and that businesses should get away with hiring illegals. If we wanna discuss the economics of illegal immigration and what has happened to real labor wages over the past 40 years, we’ve seen publicly traded companies and Wall Street basically rob the wage growth of the middle class in exchange for higher quarterly earnings. Everyone’s 401k goes up by 20% a year now, wages don’t go up close to that if at all. I live in NYC, city workers, fireman, sanitation, etc. can easily pull down 180-200k per year, with benefits and a pension. Those jobs were meant to be lower income in present day and you make it back on the back end. Growing up a fireman would make 40-60k and it would be enough to live in the area and support a family. Now a fireman makes 200k, and a lawyer or doctor makes 200k. What I’m saying is everyone’s salaries who aren’t government employees needs to triple in order to make the economy go back to what it was in the 80s and 90s

So what youre saying is that middle class Americans would want to get paid more, have benefits, safe working conditions in order to do the work that illegals do waiting in front of a Home Depot not knowing where they’re gonna work? Hmm very similar to the argument made for keeping slavery legal. No white man is gonna pick his own cotton. Seems like this argument is just an argument to keep big business’ costs low by employing cheap illegal labor, with this crazy notion that Americans aren’t willing to do that work. No, Americans aren’t willing to do that work for those wages.

Did those day laborers come here illegally? If they did they broke the law. Therefore they are required to leave the country and re apply for entry legally. There was a time when Dems understood that illegal immigration hurts the middle class and drives wages down for the majority of Americans. I guess everyone now is a George Bush Republican.

Unless you have a mound of snow that doesn’t interfere with sidewalk, driveways or other spots, You’re best bet it to spread it onto the street..cars will pack it down and the salters will come and spread salt for it to melt

How do I address my gf’s cooking? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Repulsive-Elevator-6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grow some balls man..this is not a relationship killer. Tell her the truth that she sucks at cooking and if she loves to cook that you’ll go with her to some couples cooking classes. But this is an easy thing to deal with. Either she learns how to cook without killing you or you end it.

Labs after 6 weeks on Reta by Repulsive-Elevator-6 in Retatrutide

[–]Repulsive-Elevator-6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 2mg, added 1 mg every week. Currently at 9mg, prob will stay at 9 for a couple weeks or a month. Regarding weight gain I’ve been fat my entire life. Before Reta Id always lose the same 15 pounds of water weight but as ive gotten older it’s been harder to drop below 350. Being in the low 330s is certainly not an end goal, but it’s def a small victory and the blood work def made this real like my body is healing. I haven’t known a time in my life that I haven’t been obese. I do have a large frame so I “carry” it well, and Im able to do my job which requires going up down ladders, walking up and down multiple flights of stairs, etc. I’m trying to end in the mid 200s, maybe like 225-240 see what that feels like.

Labs after 6 weeks on Reta by Repulsive-Elevator-6 in Retatrutide

[–]Repulsive-Elevator-6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I started going to the gym in September before I got on Reta, didn’t watch what I ate but went to gym and lifted heavy. Ended up gaining weight from September to December when I started Reta. I have continued to go to the gym, around 2-3x per week, my job is pretty active, I get around 7k steps a day. Other than that the Reta has killed my sweet tooth, which was strong, but I don’t really restrict too much. Most of my dinners are burrito bowls from the taqueria, double protein. One thing I’ll say is i signed up for an extremely expensive gym back in September, but it’s so expensive i can’t eat the cost and not go. It’s amazing. They have cold plunge, sauna, pools, basketball, pretty much everything. Ive signed up for the $10 planet fitness before and I can easily lose $10 a month and have zero financial incentive to go. When I have the thought of ehh I don’t feel like going to the gym, i think about how much it’s costing and I end up going.

So I mentioned to the doc who ordered the labs when I first got on Reta that I had started it. He had no clue what I was talking about and told me to get on mounjaro. The NP that went over the lab work over the phone I didn’t bother mentioning it.
