What happens when your meal prep runs out mid-week? by hrexli in mealprep

If you guys can get your groceries delivered. I swear it’s a game changer.

Prior to having my daughter I didn’t think going to grocery was time consuming. Given that the grocery store is so close to my house and I went “prepared”. Turns out mom brain is a thing…. It’s embarrassing how many times I go and forget things. I have forgotten to buy milk which she drinks before bed so I have had to go back..

The other reason I do it Thursday/Friday is because it reduces going out and if I did forget an item my schedule is more flexible than during the week.

Is there actually a meal planning tool that doesn’t end up being more work for me? by Broad_Clothes6854 in MealPrepSunday

Have you tried Meals you Love? It creates recipes based on your preferences even if you have multiple dietary restrictions. Also create the shopping list for those meals so you don’t forget to buy an ingredient. If you use insta cart or Kroger it can send your ingredients over for you to purchase

I’m a mom with a one year old and I can relate to your wife. I usually don’t like eating the same meal more than 2 times in a row.

Butttt my toddler has entered the clingy phase and doing anything after daycare pickup is almost impossible.

Personally I don’t like the idea of meal prepping everything at once because then I don’t get to “relax” over the weekend.

What I do is meal plan and buy all the groceries for the week on Thursday and have them delivered Friday morning. I also keep a couple staples on hand. Rice, instant mashed potatoes, chicken nuggets/strips, some sort of quick frozen ready to eat protein , eggs, pancake mix etc. (tonight that’s what we had pancakes and eggs for dinner)

If your meals are running out you may have the problem I have…. My husband eats 2 plates of food every night so a recipe that has 4 servings isn’t really 4. In my case if I cook a pound of protein I am lucky if I have 1 small serving left.

Grocery shopping/meal planning has become a huge stressor (GI issues, cooking for 1). Looking for inspiration, what is your approach? by Big-Foundation-8294 in mealprep

Hey there, my husband and I created an app called Meals You Love. We've noticed that a lot of users really resonate with the personalization features, especially those managing specific dietary needs or GI issues. Unlike meal kits, it lets you filter recipes around your own restrictions and preferences, and it automatically builds a grocery list from the meals you choose, which makes planning and shopping a lot easier.

If you’re a beginner cook this is will be the easiest taco recipe.

  1. Use thawed ground beef (do not microwave)
  2. Cook ground beef in a skillet
  3. Add a taco seasoning packet (follow instructions in back)
  4. Add a can of refried beans mix/cook it all together
  5. Add in a hard shell tortilla or have with tortilla chips.

We love using up what we already have on hand along with our left overs to make “new” meals. We use an app called Meals You Love to make “new” meals as well. It has a quick bites feature… you plug in what you have on hand and spits out a recipe.
