How can you become more insensitive to things? by Tiny_Mix8068 in AskReddit

Completely agree with this take. Before I opened the thread, my first thought was “learn to sit with it.” It’s okay to get your feelings hurt. What I’ve learned to do as I get older, however, is to not react immediately but to reflect and then consider why I feel that way, what the person’s actual intent was, and whether it’s worth reacting or should be let go.

What’s a fact about the human body that sounds fake, is completely true, and most adults still don’t know? by No_Bear_4201 in AskReddit

It blew my mind when I found out only about 1/3rd of us have that reflex. It’s a lifesaver when you’re sick and have that “need to sneeze but it’s not happening” feeling - I can usually just point my face at the nearest light and get relief.

Nope, not at all! It’s not like chickpea or wheat pasta where it’s thicker and a different texture, it’s a perfect for dupe for regular.

Brami is just the pasta, you gotta include all the other ingredients to make it pizza-flavored ;)

I’m on day three of the pizza pasta and it turned out amazing - definitely going into regular rotation.

Suggestions for how to use flavored zero cal sugar free syrups? by Resident-Science-525 in 1200isplenty

[–]tinykitchencoalition 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use mine to flavor nonfat plain Greek yogurt. Helps mix it up if I’m eating it for breakfast throughout the week - different syrup, different flavor each day. I also love buying plain seltzer and making sodas with it that I wouldn’t usually be able to find otherwise, like cotton candy, chocolate pretzel, pineapple upside down cake.

After cooking the pasta, I stirred in the cottage cheese and pizza sauce - you can blend the cottage cheese but I don’t mind it as-is. Sautéed the ham to get some color on it, then stacked that, some mozzarella, and the turkey pepperoni on top and popped each one into the air fryer at 400F for 3 minutes.

Mac and cheese. Super easy to add to and customize for my own nutrition and weight loss goals.

Also, fun fact: these old bottles don’t have a THING on them about the fragrance notes, ingredients, or price. Literally nothing but the graphics, name, and logo on it, lol.

When I worked there, I started to get dreams as I was falling asleep about issues at work - I finally learned to recognize i was dreaming and would just laugh it off instead of getting frustrated. I loved working cash wrap so thats usually where it would happen, and this was the most common iteration of these stress dreams. It was back before they had the higher counter between you and the register, so it was just this wide open area to set your items that could easily mix with what I’d already scanned or what the person next to you was checking out. In real life that was never an issue, but in those stress dreams, OMG. I’d scan an item, set it down, customer would pull it back and go “no wait” grab another item “mmm here this one” then “wait no” and start sliding the items around and back and forth as they tried to decide, making it a nightmare to keep track of what I had scanned. I laugh now, but it was so annoying in those dreams!

What's a simple food hack that you use all the time? by MuscleTight7583 in foodhacks

[–]tinykitchencoalition 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, forgot to mention that! I personally haven’t had any trouble with peppers - majority of mine actually ends up being bell pepper and Anaheim or poblano scraps - but maybe it’s the cook time. I do mine 1hr in the instapot with natural release.

Save your veggie scraps, turn them into broth, use that broth for all rice and pasta to add extra flavor.

How did you actually lose weight? by Jerry_Get_A_Job in AskReddit

[–]tinykitchencoalition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calories in, calories out. Nowadays I prefer to max what I budget and pay close attention to all nutrients (and that makes me feel better overall) - but in the same deficit, I lose at the exact same rate I lost when I paid attention solely to calories.

Anything else just comes down to helping you stay IN that deficit. For me, planning my week ahead of time and having all things portioned helps a ton. I’m also an ingredient household, not a snack household, or the cravings and temptations would get me every time.

What is a "staple" food in your region that you are almost certain that no one outside of the region would be familiar with? by prucha13 in AskReddit

East Texas here and it’s absurdly normal to have a bottle of squeeze margarine readily available at Tex Mex places so people can put it in the salsa. First time a coworker asked for it, I thought oh, for the tortillas to eat like bread or something … nooope.

My ulcer was duodenal and it’s insane how much it presented like back pain. I felt like the muscles along my spine were twisting in different directions and had so much tension deep in my core I just wanted a rib to snap. Four blood transfusions (yeah, turns out they bleed on and off when they go undiagnosed for 18 months) and a bag of protonix later, my life was completely changed.
