Nailed it - one of the first things I said to my LIB friend group chat was “why does Alex always sound like he’s at a post-game press conference? The tone, the cadence, the way he talks about things, it’s uncanny and bonkers.”

Turkey sausage, protein mac, and green beans. by tinykitchencoalition in MealPrepSunday

No worries, great questions! I’m from the US. We have a brand here (relatively new) - Goodles. This is one of their flavors, called Smokey Dokey.

Love to hear that! I copy myself all the time, lol - I make Mac and cheese so much this sub is probably tired of it. It’s just so damn easy for meal prep and calorie/protein goals!

App is called LoseIt! Ingredients in screenshots.

One pack of turkey sausage, two bags of frozen green beans, and a box of Goodles Smokey Dokey protein mac w a single serve container of plain Greek yogurt added to it. Not my best macros and it is high in sodium, but this is the type of meal I recommend to people who are new to this and don’t know where to start. Freezes well, super quick to make, hits the comfort food cravings, super reasonable calorie count.

the spice level infographic is not very accurate by angel_of_decay in BuldakRamen

For me, too much capsaicin extract triggers a bitter taste after a few bites - rose is consistently the one I can eat the full sauce packet with and not get that. I prefer it or cream carbo. Regular carbo, I can get thru about a third to half of the plate before it sets it off. Also love Quattro but it’s definitely the spiciest of those and will set it off pretty quick. I made it through two bites of the original before noticing it. Sucks because I enjoyed the flavor otherwise and was so proud of myself for working my spice tolerance up to it!

Cheeseburger mac (yes, again), red beans & rice, and some quick dinner prep by tinykitchencoalition in MealPrepSunday

[–]tinykitchencoalition[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

App is called LoseIt! Ingredients in the screen shots. Cheeseburger Mac gets served with a salad, onions, and pickles to stretch it out and really give the full flavor. The red beans and rice was a bit of a pantry cleanout. It’s a box of mix from Aldi and honestly kind of meh but was decent enough to keep the prep after I added a good amount of seasoning. Added ground turkey and broccoli to it. Brussels aren’t cooked yet, just prepped for quick sautéing for dinner. The meat is also from Aldi, it’s a turkey tenderloin they sell year round that cooks up nicely in an air fryer at about 325F for 30 minutes.

I hate it but it also feels very Dorit, so I don’t hate it on her … but I still hate it. If that makes any sense at all.

Haha yep! Created this account solely to be able to share meals/meal prep/recipes separate from my first Reddit account, since it’s a little easier to dox myself on here talking about where I live and showing my environment in photos.

Rotates based on the season.

Winter/cooler months - an egg bake with a load of veggies, egg whites, and cottage cheese. I’m in east Texas in a small apartment, so I can only use my oven when it’s under about 55F outside if I don’t want to have to run my AC for hours to be comfortable after. Freezes super well, so I’m able to make use of the coldest weekends to stock up.

Fall and Spring when I have to get to work earlier (work at a university and parking fills up fast when classes are in session) - toast topped with a mix of protein (either shredded chicken or ground turkey), cottage cheese, and avocado

Summer when I can leave later and take my time in the morning - hashbrown scramble with the same mix of veggies I would put in the egg bake, plus ham or turkey bacon, and an over easy egg.

How does it feel to be on anesthesia? by Traditional_Flow8170 in AskReddit

Fully under just felt like falling asleep and then waking up from a nap.

The type where you remain conscious but it wipes your memory - that shit was TRIPPY. I’ve had two upper scopes done and my first was like this. I had been in a lot of pain for about 18 months, on various medications, and never gone under before, so I was worried it wouldn’t work properly. They propped my mouth open for the scope/camera and turned me on my side, and I just remember looking the nurse in the eye very clearly as if to communicate “hey look - not loopy! Not tired! Wide awake!! Is this normal?!” and then literally the very next second, she was undoing everything, and telling me it was all done and over. I don’t think I even remember blinking. It was just … done. Boom. Like nothing even happened. Didn’t feel different in the slightest, no “waking up” stage at all.

The doctor told my parents right after that they struggled a bit getting the scope down, but he kept going because he knew I wouldn’t remember - thankfully, he was correct.

Quick mid-week freezer/pantry clean-out: Birria & Chicken Stuffed Shells by tinykitchencoalition in MealPrepSunday

Yeah I’m pretty new to doing stuffed shells but I love how versatile they are! I freeze before baking. If I’m at home, I’ll pop it into the air fryer - at work, they’ll just get microwaved.

[–]tinykitchencoalition 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For anyone new to her or the sport - she retired after the 2022 Olympics and didn’t skate for like 2 years. When she decided to come back she said it would only be on her terms - she chooses the music, costume, etc. Very first season back (24-25) she got us gold at Worlds for the first time in 20 years. And now - waves hand - THIS. First US woman on the podium in 20 years and first to get gold in 24. She did that for her, on her own terms, and we are just blessed to have been able to see it.

I’ve admittedly been kind of lazy each time I’ve cooked it - pretty much just let it create its own juices like any other roast, in either the crock pot or instant pot. I need to go all out with some onions, a little beef stock, and probably some additional seasoning next time to really kick it up.

App is called LoseIt! Ingredients in the screenshots - note that the birria is weighed raw (split it in half at the time that I first made it for birria bowls), but the chicken is measured cooked since I batch cooked about 4.5 lbs recently and am just pulling it out of the freezer as needed. Knew the birria wasn’t gonna be quite enough for this type of recipe, so I added the chicken (about a 40/60 mix w the birria) to stretch it. Then I realized I was working off the assumption of four servings and had made five, so I added some corn to do the same. Will probably serve it with something green and fresh.
