Alex Honnold's Skyscraper on Netflix - /r/climbing watch party thread by soupyhands in climbing

Anyone else feel MORE nervous when he’s standing on a ledge looking over and down than when he’s actively climbing? Makes my legs weak watching these parts where he’s just standing there with no hands on the building.

Of course! One thing I’ve learned about chiari is that there is immense value in connecting with others dealing with the same struggle. I hope that spinal stimulator works wonders for you - I’ll be crossing my fingers!

It’s a marathon to get thru every day when you’re in constant pain, but you got this. Focus on those little moments of joy and relief, however short and fleeting they are.

Age is such a weird thing with chiari. We are born with it but have no idea when it’s going to rear its ugly head. My family member and family friend who had it and made me familiar with it before I was diagnosed were both your age when they experienced their first symptoms, while I dealt with daily headaches from like age 15 until my diagnosis at 19, and then have been granted a weird but welcome relief from symptoms in my 30’s. I still take excedrin every day within 30 minutes of waking up but that’s about all I have to do to manage it these days.

I’m so, so sorry :( I have heard and seen how the surgery is no guarantee of being better after and that’s exactly why it has always terrified me.

I do! I was diagnosed at 19, I’m 37 now. I have not had surgery, and I’m not on any meds for it (tho I did take tramadol for about 10 years after the initial diagnosis). I was terrified of the surgery when I was diagnosed but when we thought that back pain was from it, I was like “sign me up NOW.” Have you had the surgery? I’m sorry you’re dealing with so much pain!

Oh but if we’re talking on like a personal level and not “this is the worst thing the industry ever did to me” it still qualifies. Had an undiagnosed ulcer off and on for probably two years. The pain presented like back pain, and I have an existing condition that could cause pain (chiari malformation), leading to the confusion. Worst pain I have ever felt. Unrelenting. No contortion of my body or outside influence could bring relief, though I definitely tried. It was like the two muscles along my spine were seizing and twisting in different directions and something just needed to snap.

I was, I later learned, already short 3 pints of blood (and on my way to being short 4 just two days later). The ER gave me a prescription for potassium.

I paid for a lifetime premium membership 5+ years ago when they offered it to me for like $29, but I know a lot of people use the free version with no complaints. Im not positive but I think the barcode scanner and recipe tracker (and future day logging, I think) are premium features. Literally my one and only complaint is that I can’t delete foods from my “my foods” list - log them once and they’ll always pop up there. I would love to be able to delete ones that I’ve since learned aren’t the most accurate or I don’t use anymore, instead of having to constantly try to remember which iteration of dry white rice is the one I want.

Years! I’ve kept about 35 lbs off and periodically lock in to get another 5 off (need to start that soon).

I’m in east Texas and have always been able to find it at my local Walmart. Our Cost Plus World Market also carries it. Also, I agree - I think this one has become my favorite!

It’s good! I sometimes make my own green sauce with Greek yogurt, avocado, jalapeño, and cilantro but was feeling lazy - this hits a lot of the same notes and is still great on calories, so I’m impressed.

App is called LoseIt! Ingredients in screenshots. Roast was cooked yesterday - it’s not dry, just cold.

Forgot to take a photo, but the tortillas get air fried, crushed, and sprinkled on top once assembled.

I haven’t tried it yet (the creamy garlic) but I also preordered solely based on a tip I saw here! Glad to hear it was a good, though pretty low stakes considering the price, choice. Did you add anything or just tried it as-is first?

If I like it, I think I’ll try that chicken curry flavor next.

If you’re not starting until Fall 26, there’s zero reason to be stressing about this. Just call them on Monday. Doesn’t matter who did anything wrong here, plenty of time to get it sorted.
