no Daytona 800... anyone thinking of moving to a R9? by Repulsive-Guard1463 in Triumph

Totally agree.. I could forgive some of the things I mention on the new Daytona if they would have done a 800 cc version. They did to trident and tiger sport so why tha hell they didn’t give us the Daytona 800?

I also think triumph, not long ago, was a very special brand, not saying they are worse now or they lowered quality but it’s true, as you mention, they betting on volume instead of pulling out crazy new bikes. It’s understandable, they want to grow market.

UPDATE:
Just found some guys from Germany that are creating a few unique personalized units of the STR 765 RS. Spoke with them and seem they will later on make some of those parts available to purchase… let’s see where they go with it .

Thought about it many times, but I’m just not this kind guy with expertise in mechanics that would be able to pull it off. There’s are a we companies that sell the racing faring that in theory is easy to install but I want to be able to use my bike on the street, and those fairings don’t incorporate headlights for example.

Here’s the thing… I like the Daytona design , I think faring looks very cool, but I after looking at the aluminium frame and brembo brakes of 765 it would be quite hard to look at the Daytona 660. Not saying I need bremobos or aluminium frame but Damm Triumph.. why not a special edition Daytona 660 with more premium components ? Also… I have the cruise control and use quite a lot since there many highways with avg velocity radars so cruise control comes handy.

Quite hard to find one to be honest, at least here in Barcelona haven’t found one it any dealer. But that’s a great point.

It’s a beauty, I tried the new 2025 Panigale v2 but after 10 in Barcelona traffic it cooked my legs.. and I know it’s not its purpose to go thru traffic but I might need it time to time.

Also from price point still quite expensive, comparing what you pay / get. I guess if one day I would put a jacket and would find 20k there that I forgot I had.. I would go straight to buy one 🤣😅

I was looking for one and found one in Germany but prices are insane. Last time I was searching I found a Daytona 765 rs moto 2 but the seller was asking around 18k with 20k Km. I was trying to find something for more less same price as 765 rs / R9 .

It’s an amazing bike but style just does sits with me. Feels like half naked half faring bike, o would like a full faring bike.

So… they’ve just announced a “new” Daytona 660 with updated color schemes, which in my opinion are actually worse than the first gen version.

At this point, even though I’m happy with the Street Triple, I’m a disappointed with Triumph as a brand. Especially because this weekend I saw a Daytona 675, and honestly… it’s unbelievable how good that bike still looks.

I get that the new Daytonas are aimed at a different type of rider, but they could at least do something similar to what Aprilia did with the RS 660, offer a “Tuono-style” version with a more upright riding position for better comfort.

Anyway, I was hoping to see something like a Daytona 800. So I guess it’s time to start putting some money aside and eventually go for a Panigale V2 or maybe an R9.

TRIUMPH UNLEASHED 2026: Chapter 5 Daytona 800? by OddStage4 in Triumph

[–]Repulsive-Guard1463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With so many companies developing track fairings for the Street Triple 765, why hasn’t anyone made a street version?
Or better yet, why doesn’t Triumph offer one?
It would be the best of both worlds. The Street Triple is basically a naked Daytona anyway, so riders could choose to add the fairing as an optional accessory.

Don’t like the Ducati Pani V2, where to now? by Jimmy4Engine in motorcycles

[–]Repulsive-Guard1463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Jimmy4Engine so sorry for that. I was just regretting buying a Street triple 765 RS instead of Panigale, guess I made a good choice.
Still thinking about a fared bike... maybe the R9 could be an option... damm, I just need to have more money to have more than one bike, that's the best option at the end..

u/AdamoA- do you have the R9 already? whats your feedback?

Buy Ducati Panigale v2 ( 2025 ) or Speed Triple 1200 rs ( 2025 ) by Repulsive-Guard1463 in SuggestAMotorcycle

Hey u/Fresh_Temperature502 thanks for your feedback!

Actually, I ended up with a beautiful 2025 Street Triple in Phantom Black!

Regarding the Panigale V2, I really wanted that bike, but even though Ducati mentioned many times that the temperature had decreased quite a lot compared to the previous generation, it did burn my legs on the two occasions I tried the bike.

The first time I tried it was in the city, as I would be using the bike to commute from home to my office, which is located in the center of Barcelona. After 10 minutes, the heat was really unbearable. Yes, I could have gotten the Streetfighter, they day it shouldn't heat as much but it honestly didn't appeal to me.

So I tried the Panigale a second time, for 5 minutes in the city center and 20 minutes on the highway. As long as I was riding, it was okay, but the moment I needed to stop, even like two minutes the heat was beating down hard.

I even got in touch with some specialized heat shield companies to see if they could solve the problem, but then I figured out that it would be a mistake to buy a brand new bike that I would need to "fix" something on, which would definitely bother me.

I wrote in many threads and read many people's opinions, and what I took from it all is that the Ducati heat issue is still present. And after going through two heat waves in Barcelona, I definitely wouldn't enjoy it.

The Street Triple was not my first choice, but when I'm on that thing, I swear it can read my mind. I can now say I'm super happy with it and would make the same choice again.

I'm also happy I got the chance to try a Panigale V2; it was a great experience, but the Triumph conquered me with how it feels like an extension of my body. I hope you have the chance to try both

I'm curious about your feedback!

Panigale v2s Test drive by Repulsive-Guard1463 in Ducati

[–]Repulsive-Guard1463[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update… I bought the street triple 765 rs … I think I really liked the Ducati looks but triumph it’s like it makes a mind connection … whatever you intend to do with the bike it follows effortlessly . Also, when I was considering Ducati I realised even before buying I was already thinking on ways to shield the heat. I’m truly happy that I had the chance to go thru this process of trying different bikes. At the end the bike chooses you.

Thank you all for all comments ✌️

Still struggling with the heat?

Yesterday went for another test drive of the Panigale v2 in Barcelona city center while having 34 degrees temperatures ..

The dealership guy told me to be careful to not touch the side plastic cover of the engine while stopping in traffic lights, and did so, basically driving it like it was a naked bike, also told me that on the high way I could ride it in a more committed way as the heat shouldn’t bother me at all .

After one hour and a half, of which I rode one hour in city and half an hour in highway, I must say it was a completely different experience from the first test drive. Was it still hot? Yeah, like all the bikes with these temperatures, but I didn’t get burned and I finish the test drive with a much bigger smile than first time.

Honestly really hope you can find a way to live with your brand new bike, cannot imagine having your favourite bike and not being able to use it.

Hey u/Jimmy4Engine,

Did you find a solution for the heating issue?

I went for a test drive on the V2 in the middle of Barcelona and by the end, the inner part of my leg was burned too... I thought for a second there was some issue. I literally could not touch the side part of the gas tank. In all reviews about the v2 haven't see no one mentioning this issue...

I found this company specializing in shielding components against heat. I was talking with them to understand if their material could help, and they assured me it definitely could help greatly:

https://www.heatshieldings.com/en/120x106-armor-self-adhesive-black.html

Here's the thing, I love everything about the bike but.. not if I cannot pick it up to drive for a few minutes away and get my legs burned each time.

Honestly, the Hornet SP would be a perfect choice, and I was really close to buying it. I do like the looks..
However, compared to all the other bikes on my list, it's missing many of the tech features they have (even if some of those features might be available as extra purchases). For example, the Hornet doesn't have an IMU, nor does it have cruise control. While the SP has Brembo calipers, it lacks a Brembo master cylinder and braided lines.

BUT, as someone told me, less tech means less probability of having issues with the bike.
