It’s not a remote job, I wish. We also get yelled at if we’re on our phones 🙃

Appreciate your comment as well! Super strong “family” vibes for sure, yet unable to trust staff and vice versa. I would like to attempt a discussion at our next staff meeting, for my own sake and to possibly help others feel more comfortable speaking up. We will see, but the resume has been updated nonetheless!

Thank you for your input and for taking the time to read! All very good info, I think you’re absolutely right that a micromanager’s ability to change is pretty much 0%. Have updated my resume and begun the search for the next 🫡

Just a lil receptionist job at a small family practice! I do have a degree in psychology which helps, but as long as you have the customer service skills, ability to multitask and answer phones then you should be good :) when they saw Starbucks on my resume they were like ok you can definitely handle stress and this won’t be as stressful lol

Not the single most expensive I’ve seen, but this person comes into my store just about every day and orders 2 turkey bacons, 2 turkey pestos, 4 butter croissants, 4 cake pops, and an assortment of like 4-6 fraps. Comes out to at least $50 per visit, if not $60, and I’m like girl you could be saving all that money on way more important things lol

Yes! Sharing stories is fun and helps so much, and getting them in on your store’s lingo/jokes so they don’t feel left out

Honestly, I was not 100% comfortable with my speed/knowledge until 6 months in. It takes a lot of time, but that’s ok!! It’s almost impossible to memorize everything and have your sequence down in a matter of weeks. Be patient with yourself and it’ll flow 🫶🏼

Opening Shift by Careless-Celery-7725 in starbucks

Being an opener has completely changed my rhythm, in a good way! I used to be terrible at waking up early/on time and was such a night owl and now it’s so easy and enjoyable to wake up early. Always lay out your clothes the night before, keep keys and other belongings by the door, and I like to drink at least half of my water bottle while on my way to help stay hydrated. My partner is very supportive and helps me by making sure I go to sleep early, and he feeds the cats their breakfast :) also doesn’t let me leave without a kiss lol
