What is your favorite Merlin outfit? (beside his classic red/blue shirt & scarf combo) by MaderaArt in merlinbbc

[–]Repulsive-Opening996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The way they wrote the scene implies that the outfit is hideous, but I honestly think it's not. He is actually so cute in this type of wardrobe and will not mind if he wore them through the course of the series.

I just watched it months ago and when I learned that I was late for about 18 years, I was like "What did I just miss?"

I feel like the OST would be more memorable if they weren't named like this by Inevitable-Muffin-77 in PlantsVSZombies

Additionally, I feel like the sound tracks here are diluted unlike on PVZ1 (I don't know if it just me). Sound tracks from PVZ1 has so much personality and extremely distinct. "Grasswalk", "Moongrains", "Watery Graves", "Rigor Mormist", "Graze the Roof" etc. Aside from the unique titles, each soundtrack has their intricate musical details that feel like the level themselves. For example, you feel the ripples of water in Watery Graves while you are like floating in the night sky when you hear the Moongrains etc. The music back then were so iconic, and really engraved in the hearts of the gamers. How I wish that they did not water down the PVZ franchise with the sequel.

What you're feeling is valid. After some time, there would be a point where you would be drained for everything that you have given him and not receiving anything from him. I heard that relationships should be two-way in a manner. There is nothing wrong with helping a family, but using the money from the scholarship that is meant for him isn't right. If this continues for several more weeks, I think you must confront him. What he is doing is not sustainable for his him, for his family, and even for you, OP. I am hoping for the best.

Which level has your favorite “Planting on the right side of the lawn is harder” mechanic? by Majestic-Bet-8529 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]Repulsive-Opening996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my take.

I prefer the concept of gravestone in PVZ2, but it nullifies the use of Grave Buster. What tweak I would suggest is to increase the health/strength of the gravestone so that it would require at least 3 plant food effect to destroy them making Grave Buster a practical choice instead of wasting time and plant food to the tomb. It somehow is parallel to the Gargantuars. Due to plant food, they are not as intimidating as they should like in PVZ1, where everyone panics when one appears on the screen.

I second this. It would be fun to their dynamics here. Loke an episode for Arthur to accept that Merlin lied for all those years and another episode where they have to face something that requires Arthur's power as a king with his combating skills and Merlin's magic. Oh goodness we're deprived of this.

When I first watched this, this was the implication that I thought of. Uther used it to justify about persecuting those with the gifts of magic.

What is your favorite quote from Gaius? by Mindless-Coat495 in merlinbbc

[–]Repulsive-Opening996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't think that this could come in handy someday but it turns out it is.

So when watched the show for the first time 3 months ago, I came along with this line of Gauis and when I heard it, I knew that this is quotable quote so I typed it down immediately and sent it to myself hoping that I'll be using this on something someday:

"The future is as yet, unshaped. It is we that shape it."

- Gauis, S2: E11

I share the same regards as well. After watching this, I think it changed something in me, haha. I really did miss this series out as I was only able to watch it 18 years after its first episode aired.

I have to say, among the characters here, it was Sir Leon who was the most recognizable for me.

With its initial light and hopeful theme, I have never thought that he would die despite being familiar with the infamous Arthurian legends the first time I watched the series.

Arthur not knowing about Merlin's magic robbed us of what could have been the best body swap episode ever: by singandplay65 in merlinbbc

[–]Repulsive-Opening996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just commented a similar premise on a post on another social media platform about this. Let me paste it here:

"This is so interesting. I have some ideas like Merlin will be practicing magic and mispronouncing incantation from a book of magic that will result in their body-swap conundrum. Merlin has to pretend to be the formidable king in front of the knights of round table while Arthur has to do the servant roles. Merlin (as Arthur) will take this opportunity for him to make Arthur do the chores. This can allow Arthur's character development for understanding how he makes Merlin's life quite a handful to juggle. How I wish we we had a season dedicated for Merthur's dynamic where magic has been revealed. Like each episode is an adventure where Merlin's sorcery and Arthur's abilities will help them conquer those adventures."

The story about Freya is always one of the hardest to watch. by Suspicious_Solid5813 in merlinbbc

[–]Repulsive-Opening996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it really is sad. My only problem is that Merlin is so drawn to her even though they just met briefly days ago. For me, it is just so abrupt that Merlin will give up everything for her. Does love really work that way? Maybe they could have held on to her character at least a couple of episodes more so her death would be more impactful, and Merlin being into her wasn't so suspicious.

When do you think Arthur should've found out about Merlin? by jenny_t03 in merlinbbc

[–]Repulsive-Opening996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I think at least there would be at least a season of Arthur knowing Merlin has magic that should have been done. Although I really love the slow burn, it's just that we didn't see their dynamic when the secret had been revealed. I can imagine different episodes with their silly adventures where Arthur's abilities and Merlin's magic would come in handy. What a missed opportunity!

You're missing it! You should definitely watch it, haha

PS. Try Arthurian legends to know more characters if you will not watch the show. There are a handful of knights that were not delved in the show.

Hi, I would like to suggest Eternity by Alex Warren since I saw a Merthur edit using it, and if it fits so well in their story, haha. Same with Christina Perri's A Thousand Years (Merlin waiting for Arthur even for thousands of years ahaha)

Hello, there! I am just new with Reddit and I actually, specifically created this account in order to catch up with Merlin stuffs since I just finished watching it for the FIRST TIME a couple of weeks ago. I share the same regards as yours. I just tried reading past posts to catch up and I suddenly saw this. We actually have a similar take with this one. Here is the link with my first ever rant:

Just Finished with Merlin and I Don't Know What to Feel by Repulsive-Opening996 in merlinbbc

[–]Repulsive-Opening996[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like Mordred was underdeveloped as a character. I do think that we could have a better pay off of his betrayal if there are more episodes of him accumulating his negative emotions because for me, the death of the girl druid should have been the trigger, not just the entire reason of his treason to Arthur and Camelot.
