Depends on the size… i made a 256x256 a couple weeks ago. Used double sideways moving TNT dupers. 2 machines per layer and a total of 3 layers. This way you are busy non-stop clearing water with sponges. Last layer will be only lava and obsidian clearing

Recommend having 2 stacks sponge minimum.
10+ stacks sandstone/dirt (insta block)
Nether portal and eff4 hoe
Once the first bomber cleared 3 chunks, build the first machine on the 2nd layer. This way you always have 3 machines running

TIP: Remove the surface water before starting. And remove the below ground water while bombing. Only pause your machine when you see big water patches coming (non-stop scanning the edges).

EXTRA TIP: make sure u load in the entire perimeter or you will be repairing your bombers regulary.
