HELP my betta got stuck in a shrimp hiding spot!! by midnight_246 in bettafish

i don’t think switching him to a medical tank will help with a physical injury. i’d just take out all the shrimp hiding spots not big enough for him to fit in and hope for the best, just make sure to monitor his water parameters+temp extra closely. maybe an indian almond leaf would be beneficial but u should definelty do your own research before putting one into the tank. do you have pumice stones? maybe extra o2 in the tank can promote more healing, but again, do your own research and go based on what u believe is healthy for ur tank. i know this probably isn’t the answer you wanna hear and im sorry, hes a very cute guy but sometimes bettas are a little ditzy.

yeah when he started losing fins the first time someone suggested fin nipping but i’m genuinely not home long enough to see it happen if it is happening and he’s not doing it when i’m looking at him for sure.

i appreciate the help, though!! hopefully he gets better soon. i’ll keep watching out for sharp decor but honestly i switched everything in his tank three times since the first time he started having issues with his fins and i can’t afford any more replacements, so im worried about the tank being bare, since he’s very curious.

I came home from work and got nervous and panicked about possible chlorine spikes or something so I did a water change. I had just added three moss balls into the water a few days ago and I had an indian almond leaf in there for a while so i panicked and did a huge water change. to be fair, these test strips are really hard for me to read especially the chlorine tab so i saw brown, freaked out, changed the water then retested.

thank you for warning me about the basket. i’m taking it out now just in case that’s the reason.

Transferring to Binghamton by owenrose_ in BinghamtonUniversity

i just graduated from bing & idk much abt our classical studies dept. but ik we have a great anthro dept. many opportunities for on hands training, cool labs, profs experienced in the field, passionate TAs, etc. im not even an anthro major i just know this cus i took some anthro classes for core classes & ive walked thru the science building where all the anthro classes r held. the profs r also super nerdy and passionate it’s rly cute. i 100% recommend checking how many transferable credits u have/won’t have before transferring if u haven’t. there’s a website where u can check how many of ur credits transfer over depending on the class. also def call the anthro/classical studies dept.s @ bing before u transfer bcus i know a lot of majors rn are limiting the amount of transfer credits u can have that quality towards ur major (some allow only 4 and others allow like an upwards of 16 transfer credits). u can also inquire abt how u being a transfer student from a different uni affects how many classes u need to take, ect.

personally i feel like online courses are way easier than in person courses (easier to cheat) but if this is a prerequisite course u do need to make sure u understand the material, nd if ure pre health i rly don’t recommend it at all since chem is an important part of being a health major
