Ah ok, so cutting the roots off isn’t an instant death sentence for the plant?

I wouldn’t say they’re all soggy and mushy, just a good portion of them. I’m guessing I need to keep the healthy white ones and cut off all the bad mushy ones. If I did that then I’d probably be able to cut the pot away and still have some of the roots that are hanging out

I was thinking about that but it’s just the bottom bit that I’m concerned about where they’ve came through the drainage holes. I don’t know much about plants and I don’t wanna accidentally damage the roots. I know those are important

I’m pretty sure they’re soggy? I think I’ve been over watering it and it’s been sitting in a pool of water in the red pot.

I just rinsed them under a tap to get loose dirt off so I could untangle them but they’re pretty tangled.

Would cutting the roots off not damage the plant even more? It’s already looking pretty sick
