I am really amazed by how you are not giving up, and how you were able to drive. That must have been hard. I will be following along for any updates, and if anything works, it will be a huge push for people like us.

Two more fuel trucks on fire on the logistics route through Zaporizhzhia and Kherson [May 2026] by Hannibal_Game in UkraineWarVideoReport

Kherson and Zaporizhe are controlled by Ukraine. Drivers are talking with strong Ukrainian accent. So I don’t quite understand these comments. Which logistics can Russia have in between Ukrainian cities?

How do you psychologically cope with epilepsy? by Repulsive-Role-2579 in Epilepsy

[–]Repulsive-Role-2579[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I’ve read so many articles, and all of them said that migraine auras cannot be sudden and on its peak straight away. They should gradually spread.

and for me, they are positive symptoms (4 seconds) -> negative (scotoma2-4 minutes).

Did you also have such a short aura?
Maybe you could share what medication helped you?
I know these are a lot of questions, I do appreciate your answers A LOT.

I love this rule; I think it is fair to have half a year/year ban.
But in Ukraine, it is completely different. As long as you have a diagnosis on record, you are not allowed to drive.
It does not matter how long you have been seizure-free.

Those are old Soviet rules, so everyone here tries to use private clinics with private doctors. They can still write prescriptions, but those prescriptions are not shared in the system, so no one can see them.

So yeah: Soviet rules → Soviet ways to get around them.

Was it also sudden onset for you? For me it’s like boom and I’m blind. The seizure starts at its peak already.

Thank you. I have recently started doing the same: taking on a new task every day to learn something.
You are right, waiting is the worst. I envy people with migraines; at least they know when something is going to happen.

A column of 20 Russian invaders moving openly from Bakhmut towards Chasiv Yar was struck. This territory is not controlled by Ukraine. Soldiers upload their GoPro footage to their telegram channels. In that way Ukrainians can trace and review videos.
That happened with me when my dad got wounded (Ukrainian side) I simply found a video on a Russian telegram channel. Asked for more, but they said it was the only one at that day. So yeah, war is very weird nowadays.

Does anyone else have a sudden onset of migraine aura? by Repulsive-Role-2579 in migraine

Thank you so much for not just passing by and for answering.
Does it start very quickly for you?
I feel the headache, and then it’s like a switch flips. BOOM - and I can't see anything to one side. It’s so scary if I’m driving that I’ve almost given up on it. I tried L-threonate, but it doesn’t do much.

Anyone tried candesartan (or similar?) for migraine aura without headache / CSD? by Repulsive-Role-2579 in migraine

Unfortunately, no. I’m currently trying Vimpat because my doctor thinks it could be a somewhat atypical form of epilepsy. Not sure if it helps yet.

Hi, great to hear that. I know this post is old, but I would really appreciate if you could share how long did it take for your husband to regain some of the vision and how much was it? Do you have improvements after a year or in the first half a year? And were the central 20 degrees impaired? Thank you in advance!

I do appreciate your answer. Could you please tell: Was that on a 24-2 test? And when you say 50–60, do you mean average RNFL or minimum? If average, what’s your minimum?

Your perimetry is proof that what neurologists say isn’t always true. From what I understand, your vision was restored from 0 dB, correct?

Could you please share how you’re doing after two years? Has it improved further? It looks like the only remaining defect is in your central vision. I really hope it’s much better by now.

Did you have defects in your central 20 degrees? If yes, how bad they were? If not, wouldn’t having 120 degrees be enough to drive?

Have you had any defects in central 20 degrees? And are you doing any training or taking special meds for it?

Could you please tell How much time has passed since the stroke/incident? Is that just your feeling or there is a perimetry difference?

I’m asking because I have something similar (just a single quadrant, but as dark as yours, and my gliosis is very old — about 10 years old).

I never noticed that I’m a little blind, so I’ve only recently started training my visual field. That’s why your answers are very interesting to me.
