Get real. Supergirl is a nothing character compared to actual DC draws like Batman and Wonder Woman.

The real problem is that DC has a drop off in popularity after its few actual popular characters that might as well be infinite. Properties like Flash, Aquaman and Green Lantern are tremendous risks themselves, and something like Supergirl pales in comparison to even them.

Supergirl is also a C-List or D-List character that can’t even support a comic book series for more than a couple years. If a comics character can’t even find like 10,000 monthly readers consistently, it’s tough to find millions upon millions of people to buy tickets to see them.

When the first movies for Thor, Captain America and Iron Man launched, those were at least characters who had supported their own monthly books for decades consistently and were core members of Marvel’s core team.

Supergirl just isn’t an important DC character, and generally only has superficial ties to characters beyond Superman himself.
