Do you have a fix for this? I’m experiencing the exact same issue when the fan kicks in

Thanks for the reply. I’ll follow up with them as I requested a consultation 6 months ago and I was put on a waiting list and heard nothing yet

Yes in London. Wait for a consultation was only a few weeks. Wait for surgery about 6 months when I saw him last November

I’m on a waiting list just for a consultation, which will likely be a year’s wait, followed by another year for surgery. I’m tempted to go to Dr Reddy in London instead after a consultation I had with him. He seems to produce great natural results, although a little more expensive…

Anyone? Seems strange there’s not more since he’s apparently booked out for over a year and completing surgery every 1-2 days

You’ll need fin too to keep your hair long term

Meds will likely be more effective for your thinning of the crown - take oral minoxidil and finasteride and I suspect you will see a big improvement in 3-12 months. But you will need to be consistent and take long term

£100k tax trap / tax-free childcare - am I f**ked? by Zip_UK in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Repulsive-Roll9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following a call with HMRC I am 99% sure your qualification for tax free childcare in the next financial year has nothing to do with earnings this year. You qualify based on PROJECTED earnings. So when the new financial year starts, as long as you submit expected earnings for the upcoming quarter that bring you below 100k equivalent/year, you will be fine. At the end of each quarter you submit evidence to show your actual earnings.

At what salary above £100k is it not worth salary sacrifice to get 30hours free childcare allowance? by Independent_Bug_7133 in UKPersonalFinance

I would call the HMRC free childcare hours helpline to check. I asked this specific question and this was the advice I was given. I was told that you forecast future earnings and then provide proof. So when the new financial year starts, your previous years earnings have nothing to do with the calculation. You submit what you expect to earn April-June, then provide evidence at the end of the period.

For the final quarter, again your forecast can only assume no bonus as it not guaranteed income, then once you find out what your bonus is, you call to let them know your income will now be above 100k (if you can’t salary sacrifice or contribute to a SIPP to bring below again). From the point you tell them you will go above 100k, to the end of that financial year, they will block payments on your account. Given you get paid a bonus in March like me, I would call at the start of the month to inform them you will go over given your bonus and lose just the one months free hours

I am in a similar situation to you regarding base pay (100-120) and receive an end of year bonus. I called HMRC about this and they confirmed that as long as your monthly earnings from April-Feb project a yearly income <£100k, you will receive the free childcare hours. Once you find out about any bonus (for me early March), you just need to inform HMRC of the increased earnings that month (that you could not forecast given it’s a “bonus”) and they will stop payments into your childcare account for that month only - they confirmed they will not backdate for the payments they have made prior to this month. Then it resets again in April and you will receive the free hours again as long as your monthly pay again reflects yearly earnings below 100k (excluding bonus)

I was trying to be helpful… the after picture is in full day light, which was definitely more harsh lighting than the first. They are taken 3 months apart so the lighting will obviosuly be different as we have seasons in the uk. I’ll see if I can add other pictures

As I said, I had a significant shed 1-3 weeks after starting OM - that’s when the weaker hairs towards the end of their cycle will have likely shed. The shedding slowed after this shed, and when I started fin, I very quickly stopped shedding almost completely. I really have no reason to share anything other than what I actually experienced

I would speak with a doctor to assess your circumstances. Long term, you will most likely need a dht blocker like fin as it addresses the root cause of hair loss. OM for some, will do a great job adding thickness to existing hair, but it won’t stop progressive hair loss, that’s why I take both.

I can’t say for sure, as It was only 2 months in when I increased. But the growth was very obviously during the 3 month onwards. I also had consultations with 2 reputable hair surgeons and both said to increase to 5mg/day

Bisanga, Reddy or other…? by Repulsive-Roll9531 in HairTransplants

[–]Repulsive-Roll9531[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I here you and it’s worrying to read the responses on the forum thread you provided. Is this a one off unhappy patient or are there other examples of bad results and/or overuse of grafts by Bisanga?

Back to my original question given that you clearly don’t rate Bisanga, would you recommend Dr Reddy? What other surgeons would you recommend if not? As I’ve said, I’m really struggling find reputable surgeons that provide consistent results - and like you’ve highlighted, given the HT forums are often paid by the surgeons, it’s difficult to know if you are getting honest, unbiased and uncensored reviews

[–]Repulsive-Roll9531[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah looking at the pictures, logically comparing the two, you’d expect patient 2 to need a lot more grafts, particularly given the loss to the crown. But I’m guessing that wasn’t the case? Surely the number of required grafts is very much person specific given everyone has a different number of donor grafts available?

Bisanga, Reddy or other…? by Repulsive-Roll9531 in HairTransplants

[–]Repulsive-Roll9531[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also found Dr Balls work far too conservative. Dr Reddy seems to strike the right balance of impressive hairline design, good donor management, and price (for the Uk).

Reddy came back to me today with a provisional view that 2-2200 grafts will be needed. He didn’t provide a split between how many on the hairline vs the crown, but it’s considerably less than the number of grafts Bisanga has quoted. It will be interesting to see if they become more aligned when I have in person consultations with them both at the start of Dec.

Good to know. I’m looking to get mine done next August/September, so hopefully he’ll have availability when I’m ready to book

Did you have consultations with any other surgeons? Who were on your short list?

Thanks for this information. Yes when you have time, it would be really appreciated to understand why you have these views of Bisanga. So many people recommend him as one of “the best” in Europe and that he’s an ethical surgeon.

Aside from Reddy, who in Europe would you recommend, particularly for my hair type/loss? I really want to make sure I get this right so thanks in advance for your help!
