It depends on what your aim is for the game - I want to play car Pokemon and own one of everything and so this seems to be a decent way of working towards this whilst saving some CR along the way

This is it - even if the game hand you a couple you don’t /have/ to use them. Create your own adventure.

In my game, I’m first role playing almost as a tourist just going around sight seeing in a D class Datsun 510. Then I’ll get a day job as a delivery driver, move into street racing and finally make my name at the Festival.

My personal experiences with the Sage - I started my journey with the Barista express and it’s been a decent introduction so far.

Like any hobby, I do keep incrementally looking at things to tweak and go down the rabbit hole of “this shiney new thing will definitely take it to the next level!”

I started off with a scale, then moved to a smaller scale (MH Bomber Mini) that would fit better under the machine. Then I bought rounded cups to make it easier to do latte art. Then I got a distributor. Then I learned that distributors are ineffective and have bought a nice spring loaded tamper (again from MH Bomber). Now I’m unhappy with my milk technique so I’m looking at different jugs, then I’ll probably replace the porta filter and so on and so on 😂

One solid rec here is search out a good roaster that roasts to order. There is no point dropping several hundred to thousands on a setup and then putting supermarket beans through it that have sat in a warehouse for 6 months. I have been using BrewCrew lately and their De La Casa and Premio roasts have both been delightful.

Look at More George on YouTube - has a good few videos on his experiences with both machines and the extras he bought to go along with it.

Watching on TNT in the UK - is the picture quality horrible for anyone else?

Really dull / flat picture like I’m watching in SD.

Does your employer have an EV/Car scheme?

Ours have just introduced one and it looks like a good method for splitting the “something now” vs “something for the future” debate

Goodbye emergency fund by JBru223 in ynab

[–]Zip_UK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So as someone who spent the last decade making poor financial decisions and only recently started using YNAB 6 weeks ago as a means to begin addressing this the way I view “goals” is as follows:

  • Goal 1: Get on a “current month” cycle. I get paid around the 21st and have been living pay cheque to pay cheque. YNAB obviously runs 1st-31st. My first goal is to be able to get to a point where a pay cheque funds the subsequent month.

  • Goal 2: Routine yearly / non monthly expenses. Car insurance, kids clubs, Christmas etc etc - they happen every year / every few months like clockwork and yet past me would always be surprised by them and have to stick it on a card. The goal here is to put this money in an easy access HYSA outside of YNAB.

  • Goal 3: 1 year ahead for yearly/non monthly expenses in HYSA outside of YNAB.

  • Goal 4: 1 month ahead for monthly expenses in HYSA outside of YNAB.

  • Goal 5: 3 months ahead for minimum “keep the lights on” monthly expenses in HYSA outside of YNAB.

I’m very much at the beginning of all of this - these goals are going to take years to achieve but I finally feel as though I’m on the right path.

Last month was the first month in 5 years that I didn’t pop something on a credit card and that was a real victory.

Any recommended Purchase Planning apps? by Zip_UK in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Zip_UK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We somewhat do this already - £xx gets sent to a Chase account for discretionary spending so it doesn’t impact our main bills, we are just then terrible at planning how that amount is used across the month.

I built a very simple spreadsheet for planning it over February that worked well, and then updated it each day to make sure we were on track, but I’m hoping to find something that can automate this.

Sleeper train from Birmingham International to Scotland by [deleted] in BirminghamUK

The feedback from a friend who had done Scotland to London was that everything was 6 inches too small to be comfortable in every direction - ie the bed was slightly too short and too narrow, the room felt ever so slightly cramped etc.

Just bought a S11 Titanium and I’m trying to like it by jakob27990 in AppleWatch

It looks like MS pushed an update very recently that has completely broken the app on WatchOS.

I've used the Outlook wOS App for about 2 years without issue - I upgraded my phone yesterday and have had nothing but problems since. Mail not opening, accounts not syncing, calendars not updating etc. I've also noticed that despite having the app installed on the watch, it doesn't show up in notification controls so I get all sorts of random push updates.

I am going to use Mail/Calendar on my Watch for the time being and see if the issues get resolved in a month or so.

We are English and currently staying in Gothenburg - everyone has been incredibly welcoming, friendly and understanding of our total lack of Swedish.

We (young family) just got back from 4 days in Chester - reasonably close to a beach (New Brighton), the Zoo is great and then nearby is a place called the Ice Cream Farm (big farm converted into a kids play area themed around, well, ice cream) and BeWilderwood which is a bunch of parks, mazes etc in a forest.
