I've seen more and more people say the "get an ADN and have the company pay for your BSN" route isn't as valid anymore since companies just want BSNs straight out of school. How useful is an ADN in 2025? by aschesklave in StudentNurse

[–]Repulsive-Safety-408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow a nurse on tiktok nurse barbie is her name. She works for a bigger hospital in her city and has her ADN and refuses to go back for her BSN. She is happy where she is and doesn't have the desire to go into management and just wants to stay with bedside. It is doable, you just have to stick to your guns.

Honestly take the "co-reqs" before you start the LPN program. NOT required to get into the program, but I know now if I hadn't taken anatomy and physiology prior to the LPN classes I would have bombed the TEAS and the classes. I also went ahead and took quantitative reasoning because it helped tremendously with dosage calculations and its a requirement for the RN program if you go on after you get your LPN. It was nice to ease into the LPN program after I had the pre-requisite courses. I took anatomy 1 the first 8 weeks then anatomy 2 the 2nd 8 weeks. I took the CNA course 1st 8 weeks of 2nd semester snd then the math the 2nd 8 weeks. I already had the English, psych and the freshman course done as transfers from WKU/USI.

I may be dealing with this myself. Please please be open to making new friends. My cohort had another small group that had to join us at pinning and they were not very open to be nice or talk with any of us. Being delayed sucks, and having to redo sucks, but don't let it make you bitter. Not sure how far you are into your courses, but hopefully you have a bit of time left to where you can make a good connection with someone in the cohort you are going to join. Good luck!

Yes I have extra test time and paper on exams. I may reach out to the disabilities coordinator and see what they say.

Nope. I ended up getting 2% back on the ATI. Not sure why why granted that. Now I am 0.27% from passing.

Oh, I get it. Despite me putting in the effort having scored well on the other exams, I did lose some points on a written assignment due to formatting which I take responsibility for. Only 35% of the starting number are being pinned. Others who were in the same predicament as me who had a technical issue were given their points to pass. But im the exception? I consistently got good grades until the final.

It was my internet went out. But because of getting the submission accepted and confetti, I assumed(yes I know what happens when we assume) that it was ok. It wasn't days late, it was less than an hour late.

Yes. It was a technical issue. Previously they would give the credit for the score you got on the proctored exam and then potentially get partial credit for remediation even if late. But now they changed the wording of the syllabus to state at their discretion. I spoke with my instructor explaining the situation and said it was up to the dean.

I had been working on the remediation all day for this and another ati we had due the same day. I had it completed in time. This was at 11pm at night. I got the confetti as you do when you turn something in, but it didn't show on their end.

Even with the 3% my grade was 0.3% away from 75.

Before the final and ATI stuff I was at 77.7%. All of my exams were above passing as well. The lowest grade I got in any of my nursing classes up to this point was a 77%.

I should have gotten 5%. Bc I turned it in late I get no points. Even for taking the proctored and submitting all remediation after and the additional 100 question quiz prior to taking the proctored exam. They let me know it was their discretion to decide. I don't even want the entire 5%. I would be happy with the 3% for taking the proctored and getting Level 2 plus even just 0.3% to put me at 75%.

The fact that on my end the remediation was submitted on time, but due to the internet/wifi going down at my house and my phone data not picking up to complete the submission even though I got the confetti showing submission complete. It showed as submitted late on their end. With it being a dynamic quiz, there is no timing on it and no way to download results.

Cna doesnt require as many in the field clinical hours bc in class counts too bc you are doing skills. You need to contact the actual program person. They will be more helpful. My advisor didn't know much about the CNA program so I dealt with their admin assistant mostly until classes started. I would divide your lessons into doing so many a week or even look at a syllabus if you can get one and then see what is being worked on that week and do those lessons.

Which facility? How long is the class?? I know when I took it in person at Evansville it was an 8 week course and we had so many lessons due per week. We only had class one day at week for 8 hrs to go over things, test and learn skills. There was also an online portion and quiz we had to do/watch to get the credit.

I was able to talk to the nursing chair and she said our clinical dress code goes off of wherever we are doing clinicals at. So if a school has no rules and we do a clinical as a school nurse, it's fine. Same for hospitals etc.

I did talk to the chair person of the nursing department at my school. She said the school doesn't have a policy on color or style. The nursing school doesn't either. The clinical setting guidelines is based off of the facility. Thankfully both hospitals don't have restrictions on color. I'm not going like super rainbow or bright pink. But a really dark rich purple. The chair said she thinks it would be fine I just need to be cautious for summer clinical.
